The two core components of Midea air conditioner are GMCC gmcc compressor and Ling Wei Electric, both of which are the world's largest air conditioner compressor enterprises and motor companies under Midea Group. On July 14, 2020, as the result of the 2nd1China Patent Award awarded by China National Intellectual Property Administration, Midea's inverter air conditioner compressor technology won the "China Patent Gold Award".

Midea Household Air Conditioning Refrigeration Research Institute has 275 laboratories, and its R&D team exceeds 1 000 people. Five R&D bases have been established in Shunde, Silicon Valley, Osaka, Italy and Haryana, India. These five R&D bases have their own emphases, and carry out corresponding work in development, intelligence, energy saving, design and localization.
Midea applied for the domestic air-conditioning invention patent 16043 and authorized the invention patent1010/,all of which won the first place in the air-conditioning industry at home and abroad. Midea's household air conditioner also dominates or participates in the national, international and industrial standards of 1 10, and is also the only air conditioner manufacturer in China that has proposed and passed the IEC international standard for new refrigerants.
