The Excellent Research Program is an activity carried out to enhance outstanding college students’ understanding of our school’s disciplines, scientific research, and faculty status, promote exchanges among college students, and select outstanding scientific research talents with potential. .

The application qualifications for the Excellent Research Program

Specifically include students who have consistently outstanding academic performance, have won high-level subject competition awards, and have achieved high-level research results. The specific requirements are as follows:

1. Students with consistently outstanding academic performance

Meet one of the following conditions:

(1) 985, Xidian students’ academic performance The academic performance ranking of students from other 211 universities must be among the top 60 in their college or major;

(2) The academic performance ranking of students from other 211 universities must be in the top 50 in their college or major.

(3) The performance ranking (in the first five semesters) of applicants for high-quality classes such as teaching reform classes, experimental classes, excellence classes, and innovation classes in colleges and universities under the "985" and "211" projects must be at the top of the class. 80 (This qualification must be recognized by the graduate admissions leading group of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering).

Grades and rankings can be based on the grades of the first 5 semesters of undergraduate studies and are subject to the transcripts and certificates issued by the academic affairs department of the university where they are located.

Note: For fresh graduates from the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering of Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, the academic performance of the first five semesters of undergraduate studies is used for calculation. Academic performance: The weighted average score of the compulsory courses in the first five semesters of undergraduate studies (excluding politics, physical education, and military theory) and the college's restricted elective courses.

2. Students who have won high-level subject competition awards

Meet one of the following conditions:

(1) ACM/ICPC International College Student Programming Competition Students who won gold medals and silver medals in the Asian Regional Competition;

(2) National first and second prizes in the National College Student Electronic Design Competition and provincial first prize (odd years) in the National College Student Electronic Design Competition Students;

(3) Students who won the first and second prizes in the National College Student Electronic Design Competition Embedded Systems Special Invitational Competition, Information Security Special Invitational Competition and Analog Electronic System Special Invitational Competition;

(4) The students who won the first and second prizes in the National College Student Mechanical Innovation Design Competition; the students who won the national first and second prizes in the National College Students Engineering Training Comprehensive Ability Competition;

(5) United States Students who have won the special prize, special prize nomination, and first prize in the National Undergraduate Mathematical Modeling Contest; students who have won the national first prize in the National Undergraduate Mathematical Modeling Contest; students who have won the national second prize in the National Undergraduate Mathematical Modeling Contest and have also won the American College Student Mathematics Award One international second prize or above in the Modeling Competition; a student who won the highest national award in the National College Student Mathematics Contest;

(6) a student who won the highest national award in the National College Student English Contest;

( 7) The top three first prizes and the top two second prizes in the National College Student "Challenge Cup" Science and Technology Works Competition; the first and second prize winners in the National College Students "Challenge Cup" Entrepreneurship Competition

3 , students who have obtained high-level research results

Meet one of the following conditions:

(1) Publish high-level academic papers

During undergraduate study, The top two authors have published or accepted at least 1 academic paper in core and above journals (i.e. core journals, EI or SCI search source journals).

(2) Patent authorization

Authorize invention patents as the top two authors during undergraduate study.

(3) Possess other equally high-level achievements

High-level achievements obtained during undergraduate studies shall be reported after passing the preliminary review by the college, and the school will organize an expert committee to confirm the level of the results.

IV. Other requirements

Applicants are required to meet the following two conditions at the same time

1. Good moral character, honesty and trustworthiness, physical and mental health, no record of punishment; ambitious To improve their own scientific research and engineering practice capabilities in relevant professional fields;

2. Applicants must have an undergraduate major in science or engineering.
