Working principle of piston compressor

The working principle of piston compressor is:

After the motor is started, it drives the crankshaft to rotate. Through the transmission of the connecting rod, the piston moves back and forth, and the working volume formed by the inner wall of the cylinder, the cylinder head and the top surface of the piston will change periodically.

When the piston begins to leave the cylinder head, the working volume in the cylinder gradually increases. At this time, the steam pushes the intake valve into the cylinder along the intake pipe until the working volume reaches the maximum and the intake valve closes.

When the piston moves in the opposite direction, the working volume in the cylinder decreases and the gas pressure increases. When the pressure in the cylinder reaches and is slightly higher than the exhaust pressure, the exhaust valve opens and the gas is exhausted from the cylinder until the piston moves to the limit position and the exhaust valve closes. When the piston moves in the opposite direction again, the above process is repeated.

Characteristics of piston compressor;

1, which has a wide range of applicable pressures. Piston compressors can be designed as low pressure, medium pressure, high pressure and ultra-high pressure. At the same speed, when the exhaust pressure fluctuates, the displacement of piston compressors remains basically unchanged.

2. High compression efficiency. The process of compressing gas in piston compressor is a closed system with high compression efficiency.

3, strong adaptability, wide displacement range of piston compressor, and the influence of gas density on compressor performance is not as obvious as that of rotating speed compressor. Piston compressors of the same specification, with a little modification, can usually be used to compress other gas media.
