The College of Materials Science and Engineering has advanced scientific research equipment and excellent experimental facilities, has very close ties with many large and medium-sized enterprises, has long-term and stable cooperative relations in scientific research, technology development and personnel training, and has undertaken a large number of major technical research projects that enterprises urgently need to solve. It has established the Key Laboratory of Auto Parts Manufacturing and Testing Technology of Ministry of Education, Chongqing Key Laboratory of Mould Technology, Chongqing Mould Engineering Technology Research Center, Chongqing University Special Welding Materials and Technology Engineering Research Center, Chongqing University of Technology Shanghai Jiaotong University C3P Joint Center, and Chongqing Light Alloy Engineering Technology Research Center Surface Engineering Sub-center. The existing laboratory area is 33m2；; It has large-scale experimental instruments and equipment such as scanning electron microscope, wide-angle X-ray diffractometer, comprehensive thermal analyzer, glow discharge spectrometer, nano scratch test system, high-frequency pulsed ion nitriding furnace, multifunctional ultra-high vacuum ion coating instrument, rapid prototyping machine, laser 3d scanner, CNC machining machine tool, 63-ton oil press, design and analysis software such as UG, DEFORM, DANAFORM and MOLDFLOW, and 287 sets of various large-scale instruments and equipment.
In recent five years, more than 3 projects including the National Natural Science Foundation, the sub-project of the Military Industry 863 Project, the New Century Excellent Talents Funding Program of the Ministry of Education, and the preliminary research project of the Tenth Five-Year Plan for General Assembly have been obtained, and the research funding has reached more than 29 million yuan. More than 4 papers have been published by the first author, including more than 15 papers collected by SCI, EI and ISTP, 8 invention patents have been obtained, and 25 textbooks and monographs have been published. Won more than 2 national and provincial science and technology awards, including 1 second prize for national scientific and technological progress and 3 first prizes at provincial and ministerial levels. Sixteen scientific research achievements were adopted, and the direct economic benefit reached 3 million yuan.
