The origin of zippo

Zippo Company originated from Braford Country Club in Braford, Pennsylvania in the early 1930s.

Because Zippo lighters are so famous now, many people mistakenly think that Americans invented lighters and regard America as the birthplace of lighters. In fact, according to historical records, this gadget that changed the way people light cigarettes originated in Britain.

There is a man named Alfred Danhill in England. He started to run a tobacco shop in Dacker Street, London from 1907. After hearing the news that soldiers on the front line could not smoke, he decided to develop a lighter. He experimented with empty boxes and so on. Finally, in 19 17, he invented a lighter that can be lit at any time with only one hand.

The first Zippo (treasure)

The first Zippo lighter was produced at the beginning of 1933, and now it is on display at Zippo /CASE Museum in Braford. The word "Zippo" was first coined by Mr. Bresday in 1932. He likes the pronunciation of the word "zipper", so he changed the word slightly and named the lighter "Zippo", that is, "Zippo/Zippo".

Since the establishment of the company, Mr. Bresday has provided unconditional lifetime warranty service for the lighters produced by the company-"We will repair them free of charge if they don't work well".
