The patent application procedure in Indonesia is similar to that in China. The Indonesian Patent Office stipulates that the pre-publicity period is 18 months. Different from China, anyone can raise an objection at the initial stage of publicity, and the Patent Office will review the objection. The applicant shall, within 36 months from the date of submitting the application, request the Patent Office to conduct substantive examination. If the application for substantive examination is not submitted within the time limit, the application shall be deemed to have been withdrawn. Complete the substantive examination within 36 months from the date of announcement or receipt of the application for substantive examination. After passing the substantive examination, the Patent Office issues a patent certificate.
The methods of Indonesia's invention patent application are divided into Paris Convention and PCT international application.
