Zhu Youyong has long been engaged in basic, applied basic and demonstration and promotion research on biodiversity control of plant diseases, and has initially revealed the basic laws and principles of biodiversity control of diseases. Internationally, he created the "Rice Genetic Diversity Control Theory and Technology of Rice Blast" and the "Biodiversity Control of Plant Disease Theory". After tens of millions of acres of demonstration and promotion at home and abroad, significant economic, social and ecological benefits have been achieved. The academic paper "Genetic Diversity and Disease Control in Rice" that marked this achievement was published in full in the British magazine "Nature" in 2000. It has been highly praised and generally recognized by the domestic and international scientific circles. He has published more than 100 academic papers and 5 monographs at home and abroad; he has won 5 national patents and 12 domestic and foreign science and technology awards. Since 2000, he has served as chief professor of Yunnan Agricultural University, doctoral supervisor at Wolverhampton University in the UK and Wageningen University in the Netherlands. He has trained 41 master's students, 8 doctoral students, 5 international students and more than 400 undergraduate and junior college students.
