Guangdong Food and Drug Vocational College (formerly Guangdong Chemical and Pharmaceutical Vocational and Technical College) is a public full-time general higher education institution registered with the Ministry of Education and approved by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government.
The history of the school can be traced back to the Guangdong Provincial School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, founded in 1965; in 2002, it was upgraded to a higher vocational college with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial People's Government; in May 2007, it changed its current name.

Historical evolution
On June 16, 1965, the Guangdong Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine School was founded, located in Saibakou, Guangzhou City;
March 1974 , moved to Jianglan Road and changed its name to the First Branch of Guangdong Commercial Technical School;
In September 1979, it was changed to Guangdong Medical Technical School;
In 1983, Guangdong was established Provincial Medical Staff Technical School, run together with Guangdong Medical Technical School;
In 1984, it moved to Longdong, Tianhe District, Guangzhou City;
In March 1986, Guangdong Province was established Medical School;
In 2002, with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, it was approved to be upgraded to a higher vocational college;
In May 2003, after being filed with the Ministry of Education, it was officially upgraded to Guangdong Chemical Industry Pharmaceutical Vocational and Technical College;
In May 2007, it was renamed Guangdong Food and Drug Vocational College after being registered with the Ministry of Education;
In July 2008, the college successfully passed the Higher Vocational College of the Ministry of Education Evaluation of talent training work;
In November 2013, it became the construction unit of the Guangdong Province Demonstration Vocational College Construction Project.
In the past three years, the school has hosted 142 projects at or above the provincial level, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Science and Technology Support Plan, the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Research Project, and the Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation, with a total funding of nearly 15 million yuan. ; Teachers have applied for nearly 30 patents and won 1 second-class national scientific and technological progress award; they have cooperated with enterprises to carry out nearly 60 technical service projects, and obtained more than 5.5 million yuan in project funding.
