Molding temperature: 300-330℃. It is a kind of thermoplastic special engineering plastic with excellent comprehensive properties, with outstanding characteristics of high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and superior mechanical properties. PPS is a sulfur-containing aromatic polymer. Linear polyphenylene sulfide is crosslinked into thermosetting plastic above 350℃, and branched polyphenylene sulfide is thermoplastic plastic. PPS was first industrialized by Philip Company of America in 197 1 year. After the patent expired, Japanese companies began to develop and produce. A typical Japanese company is Toray, whose output at present is greater than that of the United States. Other manufacturers are mainly concentrated in the United States and Japan, and western European countries do not produce PPS now.
The Chinese name of PPS is polyphenylene sulfide. It has the advantages of hard and brittle, high crystallinity, flame retardancy, good thermal stability, high mechanical strength, excellent electrical properties and strong chemical corrosion resistance. PPS is one of the best varieties of engineering plastics. The thermal deformation temperature of glass fiber modified materials is generally higher than 260 degrees, and its chemical resistance is second only to PTFE. In addition, it also has the advantages of small molding shrinkage, low water absorption, good fire resistance, good vibration fatigue resistance and strong arc resistance, especially in high temperature and high humidity environment, and still has excellent electrical insulation. But its disadvantages are brittleness, poor toughness and low impact strength. After modification, these shortcomings can be overcome and excellent comprehensive properties can be obtained.
