Shenwei Taihu Light Supercomputer is a supercomputer developed by National Parallel Computer Engineering Technology Research Center and installed in Wuxi National Supercomputing Center. There are 40,960 "Shenwei 260 10" many-core processors independently developed by China. Many-core processor adopts 64-bit Shenwei instruction system, with peak performance of 654.38+0.25 billion cycles per second and continuous performance of 930 million cycles per second.
2019165438+1October 18 The list of the top 500 global supercomputers was released. The two supercomputers "Summit" and "Sierra" deployed in Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Livermore Laboratory under the US Department of Energy still occupy the top two places, and China is "Shenwei Taihu Lake".
Importance of extended data development
Zhang Yunquan, secretary general of the High Performance Computing Committee of China Computer Federation, said that "Shenwei Taihu Light" is the first supercomputer built entirely with domestic processors in China and the world. It was developed according to the 863 plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the development cycle was nearly three years, but the previous pre-research time could not be estimated. "In fact, at the end of last year, we knew that' Shenwei Taihu Light' had the ability to win the world championship, but it has not been released for confidentiality reasons."
Regarding the localization of China Supercomputer, Zhang Yunquan said that according to the evaluation, the localization degree of Tianhe series is about 70%, the Shenwei Blu-ray Supercomputer function of Jinan Supercomputer Center is above 85%, and the processor of Shenwei Taihu Light is made in China.
