It is reported that two organizations are building two software-defined satellites, named Intelsat 42(IS-42) and Intelsat 43(IS-43) respectively, to promote Intelsat's global software-defined geographical connection structure as part of its 5G software-defined network. These two next-generation software-defined satellites are scheduled to be put into use in 2025. This plan also includes two software-defined satellites Intelsat 42(IS-42) and Intelsat 43(IS-43) built by Airbus, which were announced on October 8, 2002165438/KLOC-0.
Stephen Spengler, the outgoing CEO of Intelsat, said: "Intelsat's standards-based open architecture network design helps to adopt the best technology at any given time. Through cooperation with Thales Alenia Space, Intelsat will promote the world's first global 5G software-defined network with software-defined satellites, thus unifying the global telecommunications ecosystem.
