Changsha Vocational and Technical College of Commerce, Trade and Tourism is a full-time public higher education institution sponsored by the Changsha Municipal People's Government and under the business guidance of the Hunan Provincial Department of Education. It has a history of more than 60 years. In the long-term practice of running a school, the school has established a school-running positioning of "based in Changsha and serving the three Hunan provinces (Hunan cuisine, Hunan business, and Hunan tourism)" and is known as the "Business Whampoa" and the "Cradle of Managers."
The school is located in the Changsha Vocational Education Base of Yuhua Economic Development Zone. Currently, it has nearly 10,000 full-time students. It has Hunan Cuisine College, Hunan Business College, Hunan Tourism College, Accounting and Finance College, and Cultural and Creative College. There are 10 teaching departments including the School of Software, School of Marxism, Public Course Teaching Department, Entrepreneurship and Employment Guidance Center, and Continuing Education and Training School.
There are 22 people with senior professional titles in the school, 130 associate professors, and 9 doctors. The proportion of senior professional titles in the school reaches 37.4%. There are 242 "double qualified" professional teachers, accounting for 83.7%. A pool of 150 part-time teachers, mainly enterprise technical experts and skilled craftsmen, has been basically established. In the past five years, teachers have won 115 awards in teaching skills competitions at or above the provincial level.
The school has deepened the integration of industry and education and school-enterprise cooperation, and has signed close school-enterprise cooperation agreements with more than 20 enterprises, including China International Travel Service, Xiamen Airlines, Changsha Beichen InterContinental Hotel, and Changsha Catering Group. (2) From 2017 to 2019, the school published 1,530 papers, including 75 core journal papers; established 232 national, provincial and municipal scientific research projects, including 3 national-level projects; and obtained patents and 185 software copyrights.
