Why doesn't Apple use ams screen light sensor?

Apple is studying an ambient light sensor that can be embedded under the iPhone display, which can help eliminate or reduce screen bangs.

Current Apple smartphones, such as iPhone 1 1, include ambient light sensors in their bangs or top borders. However, a new Apple patent application introduces in detail a method of embedding a light sensor under the display screen, which makes it a step closer to completely eliminating bangs. Apple pointed out in its patent application that the location of light sensors can be challenging. For example, an ambient light sensor installed under a display pixel will receive additional light information from the pixel itself, thus interfering with reading. But Apple pointed out that the pixel array installed above the ambient light sensor can be controlled when the sensor collects measurement values.

The light sensor can adjust the brightness of the screen and keyboard light of the mobile phone according to the light in the environment where the mobile phone is located.
