This is the first special tender (auction) meeting for patent achievements of Tongji University. This model is the first innovative attempt to combine the auction system of trading institutions with the auction form in China, and it is also the first patent auction organized by a single university in China.
Tongji University selected 87 high-quality patent achievements and submitted them to Shanghai Intellectual Property Exchange Center. After examination, the results were published on the information publishing platform of Shanghai Intellectual Property Exchange Center. In the end, six results have qualified intention to enter the bidding link. The two sides transferred the bidding link from the trading institution to the university campus, and combined with the traditional auction form, conducted on-site bidding for patent achievements.
Gu Xianglin, Vice President of Tongji University, Qiu, Director of Shanghai Intellectual Property Exchange Center, and Director of Patent Management Office of Shanghai Intellectual Property Office attended the auction.
Gu Xianglin said in his speech that there are a lot of scientific and technological achievements in colleges and universities that need to be transformed into real productive forces to serve the regional economic and social development of the country. Tongji University and Shanghai Intellectual Property Exchange Center jointly held the first patent auction, which is another innovative attempt of Tongji University to actively promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in colleges and universities. The purpose is to build a bridge between scientific and technological achievements of colleges and universities, industries and markets, and improve the conversion rate of patent achievements of colleges and universities.

Gu Xianglin said that Tongji University is innovating and exploring the transformation mode of scientific and technological achievements in colleges and universities, expanding the docking channels between scientific and technological achievements and industrial markets, and actively building a complete system for the management and operation of scientific and technological achievements in colleges and universities.
Recently, Tongji University issued a new patent achievement management and operation system, including the newly revised Patent Management Measures of Tongji University, and developed a brand-new "Tongji University Patent Management Information System" to realize menu-based services, greatly simplifying the patent application process and reducing the workload of scientific research teams when applying for patents.
"Early intervention, graded operation and integration into the market" are the innovative highlights of this new policy. In the future, an "evaluation mechanism" will be introduced in the patent application stage, and professional evaluation institutions will screen out high-value application proposals with good transformation prospects, invest more resources to cultivate high-value patents such as patent layout, patent packaging and patent application planning, and realize the hierarchical operation of patent achievements.
In addition, Tongji University recently hired four teachers as the first batch of "ambassadors for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements". These transformation ambassadors will start with local industries, go deep into enterprises, help enterprises refine their needs and plan their technical direction, provide targeted information on Tongji University's scientific and technological achievements for government departments and enterprises, and gradually carry out the transformation of Tongji University's scientific and technological achievements.
