Thrombus is very harmful. There are several manifestations of thrombosis, but they cannot be ignored.

What are the symptoms of venous thrombosis in the lower limbs

1 Swelling of the affected limb

This is the most common symptom after venous thrombosis in the lower limbs, and the tissue tension of the affected limb is high , showing non-pitting edema. The skin color is red and the skin temperature is higher than that of the healthy side. When swelling is severe, blisters may appear on the skin. Depending on the location of the thrombus, the location of swelling will also vary.

2 Pain and tenderness

There are two main reasons for pain: ① Thrombus causes an inflammatory reaction in the vein, causing persistent pain in the affected limb. ② Thrombus blocks the veins, blocking the venous return of the lower limbs, causing swelling and pain in the affected limb, and the pain worsens when standing upright. Tenderness is mainly limited to the site where venous thrombosis produces an inflammatory reaction, such as the course of the femoral vein or the calf.

3 Superficial varicose veins

Superficial varicose veins are a compensatory reaction. When the main veins are blocked, the venous blood of the lower limbs returns through the superficial veins, and the superficial veins expand compensatoryly. Therefore, superficial varicose veins are generally not obvious in the acute stage and are a manifestation of the sequelae of venous thrombosis in the lower extremities.
