At last year’s Huawei Mate40 series national launch conference, Yu Chengdong revealed the “exclusive for Chinese users” function at the meeting and launched a function called “smart payment”. This function mainly uses the front camera to intelligently identify the merchant's scanning device, and then automatically pops up the payment code on the screen, allowing users to complete scanning and payment in one go.
The latest news shows that Huawei’s smart payment function will undergo a major upgrade. According to screenshots posted by netizens, Smart Payment will complete the adaptation to WeChat payment. Prior to this, the smart payment methods supported by this function only included two platform options: "Huawei Wallet" and "Alipay".
Currently, Huawei has pushed the latest system to the Mate 3 series and Mate 40 standard version. After the upgrade, WeChat payment can be set as the default method in the system settings, while Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 RS Porsche version It will need the next version to support it, which is expected to be pushed in the near future.
If you are a Huawei mobile phone user and the device in your hand has been upgraded to the latest EMUI 11 version, you can turn on the function through "Settings - Accessibility - Smart Sensing - Smart Payment". Huawei's smart payment function currently only supports scanning boxes that have been tested and matched by Huawei's laboratory. Before using it, it is recommended to ask the store owner whether it supports it.
In addition, there is news that Huawei will adapt to more payment platforms in the future, such as UnionPay Cloud Quick Pass, major bank APPs, etc. It is worth mentioning that Huawei seems to be preparing to make more plans for mobile payment.
A few days ago, a new Huawei patent on payment was exposed. According to the patent application, Huawei’s technology is called “a voice payment method and electronic device” and mainly provides a voice payment method and electronic device. It allows the electronic device to receive voice information used to instruct the user's payment operation. When the voiceprint characteristics of the voice information meet preset conditions, the user's authentication is completed.
In fact, Huawei's technology is not a cutting-edge new technology. Currently, both Alibaba and Google have implemented the "voice payment" function in their own smart voice devices. For example, in Alibaba’s Tmall Genie product, you can use your voice to complete operations such as recharging phone bills. As for whether Huawei will bring this smarter voice payment solution to its mobile phones, we will wait and see.
