Research fields and honors of Dalian Locomotive Research Institute

Dalian Institute has long been engaged in the technical development, experimental research and product design and manufacture of locomotives and light rail vehicles, running gear, diesel engines and their main components, superchargers, microcomputer control systems for locomotives, transmission systems, hydraulic machinery, heat exchange components and special test equipment, and is in a leading position in many technical fields at home or in the industry, enjoying a high reputation at home. Since 1984, Dalian Institute has vigorously developed the science and technology industry and actively promoted the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. Most scientific research achievements have been transformed into products. At present, hundreds of new technologies and products are widely used in railway, urban rail transit, metallurgy, petrochemical and other industries. In 2005, it was awarded as Dalian May 1st Labor Award Enterprise.

Over the past 50 years since its reconstruction, the Institute has successively completed the experimental improvement of various types of railway steam locomotives in China, participated in the design, development and experimental research of early experimental diesel locomotives and the first to fourth generation diesel locomotives in China, * * * completed more than 500 scientific research and development projects 1500, won more than 40 scientific and technological achievement awards 1500 above the municipal level, and obtained more than 40 national patent authorizations. In recent years, Dalian Institute has been focusing on the development needs of high-speed, heavy-haul and safe transportation of China's railways and the development of urban rail transit, keeping up with the world's cutting-edge technologies, and vigorously developing products with high efficiency, energy saving, high reliability and informationization. A variety of new products have been developed successively, such as diesel supercharger with wide, high-efficiency and high-pressure ratio, high-reliability combined piston with steel top and aluminum skirt, new long-life fuel injector, on-board microcomputer control system, locomotive AC auxiliary transmission system, rail car hydraulic transmission device, EMU cooling device and so on. The successful design and development of the first 70% low-floor circulating modern urban light rail tram in China has contributed to the development of railway and urban rail transit equipment technology in China.
