Guangxi Art College was founded in 1938, formerly known as "Training Class for Art Teachers in Guangxi Provincial Basic Schools for Nationalities" (referred to as "Artist Class" for short). It is the earliest professional school in Guangxi to train artistic talents. Through the efforts of several generations of artists, the music group of the artists' class has grown and developed into the Music School of Guangxi Arts University.
The Conservatory of Music is an important secondary college under Guangxi Arts University, and it is also the only important teaching institution in Guangxi that specializes in training talents in music performance, music creation, music education and music research. The Conservatory of Music of Guangxi Arts University has made irreplaceable contributions to the construction of Guangxi music culture and exerted a certain influence on the modern music history of China. 1938 In the summer, Wu Bochao, one of the pioneers of music education in China, a famous music educator, composer and conductor, moved from Hunan to Guangxi as the head teacher of the Music Group.
1February, 940, Wu Bochao went to Chongqing as the president of the National Conservatory of Music, and was succeeded by Zhang Jiayao, director of the Department of Graphic and Audio Studies of the Provincial Education Department. In August, the class was officially renamed as Guangxi Art Teacher Training Class, which was independently administered. The class is located in Zhengyang Building, Wangcheng, and recruits students from the second two-year advanced class and one-year junior class. 194 1 May, Ma took over as the head teacher. With his efforts, the scale of the artist class has been continuously developed, and the third two-year senior class was recruited in autumn. 1942 applied for a one-year seminar in the summer. 1July, 943, graduated from the research class of the third advanced class. 1946, the artist class merged with the private Rongmen Art College, renamed as "Guangxi Art College", with Ma as the principal, and enrolled 19 two-year music students. The music department offers courses such as vocal music, piano, music theory, harmony, counterpoint, chorus, audio-visual ear training and music history. There are no special classes.
1947, President Ma resigned and was replaced by. The school moved to Wanshoushan Temple (the former site of Guangxi provincial capital) near Elephant Trunk Mountain in Guilin, and enrolled five-year students for the first time (all of them enjoyed free treatment), including music major 12, which was divided into three professional classes: vocal music, piano, orchestral music and composition, with Jiang as the head of the music department.

1March, 958, Guangxi Art College was rebuilt. The campus of Guangxi University for Nationalities, located in Xixiangtang, Nanning, is temporarily used for running schools. Yuan Siyao, Party Secretary and Vice President of Guangxi University for Nationalities, is the president of Guangxi Art College, and Dong Qixiang (female) is the full vice president. The head of the music department is Chen Wei, secretary of the Party branch of the department (in June of 5438+0 1 year, Xue was transferred to take over as the party branch secretary of the department), in which the music department has three majors: composition, vocal music and instrumental music. The academic system is tentatively set as a two-year college, and the training goal is mainly to transport music cadres to cultural centers in counties and cities of Guangxi. In order to support art education in Guangxi minority areas, teachers and graduates were transferred from Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Guangzhou and other big cities to Guangxi Art College, forming a high-level and powerful art teacher team.
From September 65438 to September 0959, the Music Department enrolled four-year undergraduate students majoring in vocal music, instrumental music and composition for the first time. The original 58-level professional academic system was changed to two-year college and four-year undergraduate respectively. At the same time, five-year music classes (starting point of primary school graduation) were enrolled for the first time. For the first time, three-year students majoring in music, art and drama were enrolled in the preparatory class (the starting point of junior high school graduation), including music major (the second class).
1960 In April, with the approval of the people's government of Guangxi District, Guangxi Art College was upgraded to "Guangxi Art College", and the academic system of junior college was officially changed to four years of undergraduate course. In July, I moved to the former site of Guangxi Teachers' Training School, that is, the current site of Guangxi Art College, near Nanhu in Nanning.
