It is a lie to say that you can save electricity at home. There are only a few capacitors in it, which can only improve the power factor for inductive loads such as refrigerators, air conditioners and fluorescent lamps. When it is juxtaposed with these appliances, it increases the total power factor and reduces the total current, so many people think it saves electricity. This is because they learned pure resistance circuits in middle school.
However, in life, except for incandescent lamps (that is, ordinary light bulbs), which are pure resistors with a power factor of 1, other household appliances are basically resistor-inductor hybrid circuits with power factors below 1. The full name of our household electric meter is "single-phase active energy meter", which only measures the active power we use.
In the hybrid circuit, the active power P = UIcosψ, and the latter cosψ is the power factor. We assume that the inductance power factor of an electrical appliance is 0.7, the rated voltage is 220V, and the rated power is 1KW.
Then if it is not connected in parallel with the capacitor, its working current should be 6.5A When it is connected in parallel with the capacitor, the power factor is increased to 0.9, so its working current becomes 5A.
A total reduction of 1.5A! Then its active power will change, no! This electrical appliance has to go once an hour, but it still has to go once after connecting the capacitor.
Power saving method
1. When using air conditioner, the temperature should not be too low. The state recommends that the temperature of household air conditioners be set at 26 to 27 degrees in summer. Every time the air conditioner is raised 1 kwh, the power load can be reduced by 7% to 10%.
Unplug the power plug when you are not watching TV, and don't let the TV stand by.
3. Keep the bulbs and lampshades clean, and improve the luminous and reflective effects. After the lamp is used for a period of time, the luminous flux will drop greatly and the lamp will get darker and darker. At this time, attention should be paid to replacing the new lamp in time.
Household electric irons usually have temperature-regulating type and common type. The former is more conducive to saving electricity. It is also best to choose an ordinary electric iron with a switch on the handle, which can control the temperature at any time and reduce power consumption.
