Why can Guangdong become the largest province in economy? China has been the boss of Henan and Jiangsu for 5,000 years and Guangdong for more than 20 years.

Because Guangdong's economy is highly developed, its industrial core competitiveness is the strongest.

The most intuitive and popular calculation method to measure the economic strength of a province is GDP. If measured by GDP alone, Guangdong is currently ranked first.

Guangdong's core competitiveness, innovation ability and the gathering power of industries and talents. By the end of 20 14, the number of invention patents granted in Chinese mainland ranked first in Guangdong (11,878). In 20 14, among the top ten domestic-funded enterprises (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) in China, Guangdong occupied 5, Beijing 4 and Zhejiang 1 0, and Guangdong still topped the list. This is the embodiment of Guangdong's industrial core competitiveness.

According to the 12th China 500 Most Valuable Brands released by the World Brand Lab on 20 15, Guangdong Province was selected with 80 brands (most of which were private enterprises), far exceeding the second Shandong Province (42 brands), ranking second in Chinese mainland Province, second only to Beijing (94 brands) and ranking first in the province. Among the top ten most valuable brands in China, Huawei ranks fourth, and it is the only private enterprise that makes it into the top ten, while the top three are all state-owned enterprises.

There was a popular saying in the 1980s and 1990s: East, West, North and South, Guangdong made a fortune (Wanda Chairman Wang Jianlin mentioned it in his speech). Guangdong can be said to be the region with the best entrepreneurial atmosphere and achievements in Chinese mainland. Tencent, Huawei, SF, BYD, China Merchants Bank, Gree and other well-known domestic brands are all made in Guangdong. No province has so many well-known enterprises that deeply affect China's population of more than one billion.

The China Import and Export Fair (hereinafter referred to as the Canton Fair), headquartered in Guangzhou, is the largest and most influential commodity trading platform in Chinese mainland and a barometer of China's commodity trade and foreign economy. Guangzhou is also known as the commercial capital. In a word, Guangdong's economic position is in China, just like California's position in the United States.
