Preferring to cause huge losses, Vietnam may face serious problems if it insists on not using Huawei 5G equipment
It is reported that Vietnam is planning to become the first Southeast Asian country to build 5G telecommunications infrastructure without Huawei equipment . The consequence of this is that the construction of 5G telecommunications networks in the country will be delayed by several years.
According to foreign media reports, Vietnam Electronics and Telecommunications Company, Vietnam’s largest mobile operator, announced that the company will install 5G equipment from Ericsson Group in Hanoi and Nokia Group’s 5G equipment in Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, Vietnam will use chips from Qualcomm and other European and American manufacturers in its network infrastructure, instead of Huawei's equipment and chips. But refusing Huawei's help in developing 5G may cause it to face a serious problem - 5G construction will be delayed for several years.
Huawei now has the largest number of patents in the 5G field. Huawei has signed more than 50 contracts with other countries to build 5G network infrastructure, and has built more than 150,000 5G base stations around the world. It is expected that the number of base stations built by Huawei will increase to 500,000 by the end of this year.
So far, there is no unified 5G network standard in the world. Huawei has surpassed its opponents in the field of 5G introduction and has a great opportunity to become the developer of new generation network standards. Therefore, many countries, including Europe and Asia, are not in a hurry to reject Huawei 5G, and they are observing Huawei equipment.
Among them, European countries such as the United Kingdom and Spain are actively using Huawei's 5G equipment and will decide in the autumn whether to use Huawei's equipment to develop 5G networks. The 5G development situation in Thailand, which is also a Southeast Asian country like Vietnam, But it went very smoothly. It is reported that Huawei recently signed a 5G cooperation memorandum of understanding with Thai operators and successfully tested the first 5G international video call between China and Thailand. Given Thailand's positive attitude towards Huawei's participation in 5G construction, Thailand may become the first country in Southeast Asia to successfully commercialize 5G networks. So will Vietnam regret this? What do you think?
