Introduction of flexible hinge
Flexible hinge (or flexible support, cross spring support) is a kind of elastic support with simple structure and regular shape. Its rotation center coincides with the geometric center axis, and it works through the finite deformation of elastic thin plates evenly distributed in the circumference and radial direction. Under torsional load, it rotates around its rotation center within a limited angular range. It is called "flexible fulcrum", "flexible joint" and "torsion beam (rod)" in foreign academic journals. Compared with traditional bearings, elastic bearings have many advantages, such as no clearance, no friction, no clearance, no noise, no wear, small space size, high motion sensitivity, easy control and stable operation. They are widely used in aerospace, robotics, optics, bioengineering and other fields, and are important components in precision machinery, precision measuring instruments and micro-nano devices. Such as attitude adjustment mechanism in spacecraft, adaptive adjustment mechanism in astronomical telescope, alignment mechanism of microwave antenna in spacecraft, solar panel folding mechanism, robot wrist force sensor, high-precision small-range torque sensor and so on.
