Panasonic LX5GK or Olympus XZ- 1 Which has better overall imaging quality? Which night scene is better? Which brand has better quality? SLR is not recommended, thank you.

Hello:

These two models are the flagship card machines of Panasonic and Olympus respectively. The performance is very close. I saw you compare some parameters. Let me briefly analyze your comparison. First of all, aperture is really important. Many beginners only know that a large aperture is good and they get more light, but they don't understand how it helps imaging. In fact, a large aperture brings clarity. If you want high definition, the shutter should be fast first, but if the shutter is fast, the light will be dim and the light will not be good at night, so in order to ensure that the photo is bright enough, the shutter should not be fast. However, if you have a large aperture and a lot of light, the shutter with a large aperture will be faster and have higher natural clarity while ensuring the same brightness. So XZ- 1 holds a clearer night scene than LX5. Then wide angle. Wide angle really looks better. Especially it is easier to take pictures indoors. My usual SLR lens is 28mm, which is enough. ISO, don't compare with this, it's useless. After the camera ISO exceeds 800, there will be too much noise. I've been playing with cameras for so many years, and I've never used one with ISO exceeding 1600. It's terrible. Don't compare shutters. As I said above, the light is dim when the shutter is fast. If you want to shoot11500 seconds, you have to take pictures in the sun. 1/2000 is very rare. The light should be strong, but it is not necessary. 1/4000 is even more meaningless. So this parameter is useless. So your above parameters just win one game each. Moreover, a large aperture contributes to the imaging quality, so it is more useful. And in fact, you haven't found the most powerful thing about XZ- 1, that is, the lens is very high-end, and the aperture of XZ- 1 can still be kept at F2.2 at the maximum zoom, shooting people with blurred background. It's artistic. It's a patent for SLR cameras. LX5' s lens doesn't work at all. With this alone, LX5 will be defeated. You know, portraits without blurred backgrounds are rubbish no matter how clear and blurred they are. This is why professional photographers have to blur the background when shooting portraits. Of course, the price of XZ- 1 is higher. But if we don't talk about the price, on the whole, LX5 is not an opponent of XZ- 1 in terms of hand-held night scenes, indoor image quality and portraits, except that it is easier to take pictures.
