The official definition of digital media technology
On February 26th, 2005,65438, the expert group of computer software and hardware technology under the National 863 Program officially released the 2005 White Paper on the Development of Digital Media Technology in China, and formulated the national digital media technology development strategy in the 11th Five-Year Plan.
The white paper redefines the concept of digital media: digital media refers to the whole process of distributing digital content works to terminals and users through a perfect service system with modern networks as the main communication carrier. This definition emphasizes that the transmission mode of digital media is through the network, excluding media content such as optical discs from the category of digital media.
At present, the research of digital media technology will focus on forward-looking technologies such as virtual reality and digital copyright, and will adopt the internationally accepted patent pool management model.
On April 4th, 2006, the National Digital Media Technology Industrialization Base and the National 863 Software Professional Incubation Base were unveiled in Shanghai. The 863 Software Incubation Base, covering an area of more than 500 mu, is adjacent to the relocation base of pujiang town World Expo, which will provide technical and service platform support for software enterprises in this city.
According to the cooperation plan between the Ministry of Science and Technology and Shanghai, by 20 10, the annual revenue of Shanghai digital media industry will reach10 billion yuan. In 2005, the income of this industry in Shanghai was 35.4 billion yuan, which means that the growth in the next five years will reach 300%. Shanghai is expected to become an internationally renowned digital media technology innovation center.
Four national digital media technology industrialization bases have basically taken shape: Beijing, Shanghai, Changsha, Hunan and Chengdu, Sichuan. And these four bases have their own characteristics, among which, Beijing is mainly based on forward-looking technology; Shanghai is dominated by game operation and digital display; Changsha is dominated by animation; Chengdu focuses on game development.
