Ceramic filled coating system for painting, designed for use on steel, concrete, etc. In chemical and related industries, it can be used to protect surfaces from exposure to strong chemicals. It is designed as a non-structural pipe coating that is more durable than traditional tape coatings, paints and waxes. The system is primarily used to prevent external corrosion of circumferential welds, earth contact surfaces, exposed ground lines and as a topcoat for AMO pipe coverings. AP385PMC can be applied to vertical, elevated and horizontal surfaces and brushed to a thickness of 30-40 mils (762-1016 microns).
The installation procedure is:
Complete surface pretreatment. Mix A and B.
Use a suitable hard brush to brush the mixed AP385PMC onto the treated surface.
After a short period of curing, it will become flat and smooth. It is generally not necessary to apply two coats as the thickness obtained with the first coat is usually sufficient. If a second coat is required, it must be applied after the first coat has gelled (firmly, but still tacky to the touch).
Cure. Fast-curing phenolic epoxy coating, 100% solids, completely harmless. Among them, American Norvik R200 is outstanding in this field. It can be used as a coating for pipeline repair. The maximum operating temperature of these pipelines is as high as 200°C. This two-component, solvent-free epoxy easily achieves a dry film thickness of 40 mils (1 mm) in one coat. This product provides better adhesion and abrasion resistance.
Applications: Circumferential welds, valves, fixtures, bent and irregular-shaped repair pipes, new pipes or other metal substrates requiring corrosion protection. Material Features and Benefits: 100% solids, phenolic epoxy; VOC-free, isocyanate-free; phenolic chemistry - for pipes operating at temperatures up to 200°C; higher wear resistance; Novi Gram-R200 can be sprayed or hand-operated; has better adhesion on bare steel and epoxy powder materials; excellent cathodic stripping performance, adhesion and elasticity. Recommended thickness: Wet film: up to 40 mils/layer Dry film: up to 40 mils/layer Special protection system applications. Representative materials in this field include EE-11 produced by the American Aker Company, which has underground protection for all segments. Pipe coating, sprayable phenolic ceramic filler coating, suitable for aggressive water environments. Immersion works great when warmed to 300F. Resist strong wear and tear. High elasticity makes EE-11 suitable for tube sheets and underground piping. EE-11 primer containing zinc phosphate reduces corrosive undercutting. Whether fresh, salt water or salty, pipe/segment joints are critical points for erosion, corrosion & leakage that can degrade unit efficiency. Aker Pipe Coating comes with a layer of 10-30cm DT coating, effectively sealing the area for increased efficiency & preventing future erosion and corrosion. Using the more flexible EE-11 system helps prevent cracks, cracks and leaks caused by bending and thermal stress. For underground pipes, use EE-11.5 for excellent adhesion, no denting or sinking, 5-10 mils DFT.
