In recent ten years, according to the rapid development of national defense construction and communication, the research direction mainly focuses on multipolarization, multi-band microstrip antenna array, microwave circuit, radar stealth material measurement, microwave energy transmission, microwave remote sensing and so on. The discipline of biomedical engineering in Shanghai University was founded by Shanghai University (formerly Shanghai University of Science and Technology) and Shanghai Second Medical College on 1979. It is one of the earliest biomedical engineering majors in China universities. At the same time, the two universities jointly established the Shanghai Institute of Biomedical Engineering, with Professor Lan Xichun as the first director. The master program was established in 1984.
