Our teacher guided us to invent a utility patent. We are a team of four people. Do we each need to pay a review fee of 150 yuan?

Strictly speaking, your patent should be a "utility model" patent. The fee for applying for a utility model patent is generally divided into two parts. One part is called the agency fee or service fee, which is paid to the agency. (It is the organization that helps you write patent application documents). The other part is generally called official fees, and official fees are paid to the official (State Intellectual Property Office). Utility model agency fees range from more than 1,000 yuan to more than 3,000 yuan. It depends on how the agency that helps you write the patent charges. The official fee is 500 yuan per utility model patent application (if the application fee is not reduced). After passing the review, there will be a registration fee, certificate stamp duty and first-year annual fee (these three are also official fees) totaling 805 yuan.

So, if your patent is written by yourself, or if you do not entrust an agency to write it, there is no problem with the above-mentioned service fee. But you still have to pay official fees. As for how you divide the official fees, it is up to you to discuss and negotiate internally. The official only cares about whether you have paid the money you should pay.

Therefore, during the application process, it depends on which part of the fee your "review fee" belongs to.
