Compared with lithium-ion or lithium polymer batteries used in pure electric vehicles at present, all-solid-state lithium batteries can "omit" the separator material, and the solid electrolyte itself acts as the separator, so the structure of solid-state lithium batteries is closer to a "sandwich".

It should be noted that the charging and discharging mechanism of solid-state lithium batteries is similar to that of conventional lithium batteries, which is the process of intercalation and deintercalation of lithium ions on electrode materials. However, thanks to the advantages of solid electrolyte in density and structure, charged ions gather at one end and conduct more current, thus improving the battery capacity. In other words, under the same volume, the capacity of solid-state batteries will be greater than that of conventional lithium-ion batteries.

Battery technology is undoubtedly the tray for the development of pure electric vehicles, and moving towards solid state is the general trend of lithium batteries. With the development of solid-state battery technology, while solving the application pain of lithium-ion battery, the battery miniaturization, high energy, light weight and fast charging ability will become the catalyst for the electrification of products of major domestic and foreign automobile enterprises and even their entire brands.

At the same time, the iteration and development of battery technology is also a big wave for car companies and suppliers, so it is not difficult to explain why "electric shock" has become a link of cooperation between competitors. Reminiscent of a Japanese brand that has always been rigorous, it recently joined hands with local battery companies to make a "high-profile" release on electrified product architecture. As a microcosm, perhaps the pace of electric shock of traditional car companies is not slow at all, just "waiting".
