For more than ten years, Zhang Bingjian's research group has been engaged in the research of cultural relics protection related to large sites, as well as the chemical theory and application research related to building stones, including cleaning, reinforcement, polishing, renovation, protection and modification of materials. He cooperated with Zhejiang Cultural Relics Bureau and subordinate units of National Cultural Heritage Administration, undertook a lot of technical and data research related to the protection of brick, stone and earth cultural relics, participated in the review of most important stone cultural relics protection schemes in the province, and undertook a number of national cultural relics protection science and technology projects. He has obtained 6 national invention patents, published nearly 100 scientific research papers in domestic and foreign journals and international academic conferences, and dozens of them have been included in SCI, which has trained more than 10 doctors and masters in the domestic stone industry and cultural relics.
