How to apply for a foreign patent after obtaining a domestic utility model patent?

If your utility model has been authorized, you can only make improvements on this basis and then reapply. Because the utility model is open at the time of authorization, it has become a known technology.

If your utility model is not authorized and your application is not more than 12 months, you can give priority to this application and apply directly to foreign countries through an agency.

If your utility model has not been authorized, and the application has not exceeded 12 months, you can also take this application as the priority to file a PCT application with the International Intellectual Property Office (as the acceptance office of international PCT applications), and then designate a country to enter according to relevant regulations.

If your utility model has not been authorized, and the application has been more than 12 months, you can no longer claim priority, but you can still file a patent application directly with the foreign intellectual property office or a PCT application with the Chinese intellectual property office.
