What are the myths and stories?

Six major myths and stories in ancient China:

1. Pangu opened the sky

Legend has it that before the world was opened, there was an unknown thing. There are no seven orifices, so it is called Dijiang (some people call him Chaos). It looks like a bag without holes. It has two friends, one is called Sui and the other is Hu. One day, Su and Hu discussed digging seven orifices for Di Jiang, and Di Jiang agreed. Suhehu spent seven days digging the seven orifices for Dijiang, but Dijiang died because of the seven orifices.

After Di Jiang died, a person named Pangu appeared in its belly. Emperor Jiang's essence became the future Yellow Emperor.

After Pangu slept soundly in this "big pocket" for about 18,000 years, he woke up and found darkness around him. When he opened his hazy sleepy eyes, he saw nothing but darkness. He wanted to stretch his muscles, but the "egg" wrapped his body tightly. He felt hot all over and it was very difficult to breathe. Oh my gosh! This damn place!

Pangu could not imagine surviving humiliatingly in such an environment. He was furious and furious, so he pulled out one of his teeth, turned it into a powerful axe, and swung it to chop around with all his strength.

"Clatter..." After a loud noise, a fresh air from the "egg" spread out, fluttering up to a high place and turning into the sky; Slowly sinking, becoming the earth. From then on, the chaotic and indivisible universe transformed into heaven and earth, no longer pitch black. When people are in it, they just feel refreshed.

The sky is high and the earth is vast. But Pangu was not dazzled by the victory. He was worried that the heaven and the earth would be reunited, so he spread his legs, stepped firmly on the ground, raised his head high, held it against the sky, and then cast a spell, and his body changed within a day. nine times. Whenever Pangu's body grew one foot taller, the sky would become taller by one foot, and the earth would also thicken downward by one foot.

After more than 18,000 years of hard work, Pangu became a giant who towered over the sky and the earth. The sky also rose unreachable and the earth became extremely thick. The sky became higher and higher, the earth became thicker and thicker, and Pangu's body grew to be as long as 90,000 miles.

Pangu still did not give up and continued to cast spells. I don’t know how many years passed, but finally the sky could no longer be higher and the earth could no longer be thick.

At this time, Pangu had exhausted all his strength. He slowly opened his eyes and looked affectionately at the world he had created with his own hands.

Ah! It's so great that I actually created such a brand new world! From now on, everything in the world will no longer live in darkness.

Pangu exhaled a long breath, slowly lay on the ground, closed his heavy eyelids, and passed away.

The great hero died, but his body did not disappear:

Before Pangu died, the breath from his mouth turned into the spring breeze and the clouds in the sky; his voice changed It became the thunder in the sky; Pangu's left eye became the sun, shining on the earth; his right eye became the bright moon, bringing light to the night; thousands of strands of hair became stars, dotting the beautiful night sky; the blood became Rivers and lakes are running endlessly; muscles become thousands of miles of fertile land for all things to survive; bones become trees and flowers for people to appreciate; tendons become roads; teeth become stones and metals for people to use; essence becomes bright pearls for people to collect; sweat turns into rain and dew, nourishing the seedlings; the exhaled air turns into breeze and white clouds, forming a beautiful human scenery; when Pangu fell, his head turned into Dongyue Mount Tai (in Shandong) , his feet turned into Huashan Mountain (in Shaanxi), his left arm turned into Mount Hengshan (in Hunan), his right arm turned into Mount Hengshan (in Shanxi), and his abdomen turned into Mount Songshan (in Shanxi). Henan). It is said that Pangu's spiritual soul also became a human after his death. Therefore, it is said that human beings are the spirit of all things in the world.

Pangu completed the great achievements of opening up the world during his lifetime. After his death, he left endless treasures to future generations and became a hero worshiped by the Chinese nation.

Second, Nuwa patched up the sky

This myth comes from "Huainanzi·Lan Mingxun", the full text is as follows:

In ancient times, the four poles were abandoned, The nine states are divided, the sky cannot cover them, and the earth cannot be contained; fires are burning but not extinguished, waters are vast and the oceans are never quenched, ferocious beasts eat the people, and birds of prey prey on the old and the weak.

So, Nuwa refined the five-color stones to mend the sky, cut off the Ao to stand up the four poles, killed the black dragon to help Jizhou, and accumulated reed ashes to stop the promiscuous water. The sky is replenished and the four poles are upright; the rivers are drying up and Jizhou is at peace; the cunning insects are dead and Zhuan's people are prosperous.

Third, Nuwa created humans;

Pangu opened up the world and created the sun, moon, stars, mountains, rivers, and vegetation with his body. The turbid air that remained between heaven and earth slowly turned into insects, fish, birds and beasts, adding vitality to this dead world.

At this time, there was a goddess Nuwa walking on the vast wilderness. She looked around, and saw undulating mountains, rushing rivers, dense jungles, glorious vegetation, hundreds of birds singing in the sky, beasts galloping on the ground, fish playing in the water, and insects jumping in the grass. The world was supposed to be decorated quite beautifully. . But she always felt an indescribable loneliness. The more she watched, the more annoyed she became, and the loneliness became stronger and stronger. Even she couldn't figure out why.

When she talks to the mountains, rivers and trees about her annoyance, the mountains, rivers and trees don’t understand her words at all; when she talks about her worries to the insects, fish, birds and beasts, how can the insects, fish, birds and beasts understand her distress. She sat slumped beside a pond, blankly staring at her own shadow in the pond. Suddenly a leaf fell into the pond, causing small ripples in the still water, causing her shadow to sway slightly. She suddenly felt that the knot in her heart was untied, yes! Why does she have that unspeakable feeling of loneliness? It turns out that the world lacks a creature like her.

Thinking of this, she immediately dug some soil and water by the pool with her hands, and squeezed it according to her own shadow. She felt so happy.

He pinched it and shaped it into a small thing, which looked similar to Nuwa. It also had five senses, seven orifices, hands and two feet. After pinching it and putting it on the ground, it suddenly came to life. Nuwa was filled with joy when she saw it, and then she squeezed a lot more. She called these little things "people."

These "people" were created in the image of gods, and their demeanor and behavior were naturally different from other creatures. They actually chattered the same words as Nuwa. They cheered and jumped for a while beside Nuwa, and then slowly walked away.

Nuwa’s lonely heart suddenly became warm. She wanted to make the world lively and lively, so that there would be people everywhere in the world created by her own hands, so she kept working and pinched one after another. . But the world is too big after all. She worked for a long time and her hands were numb from squeezing. The little people she made were still too few and far between on the earth. She thought this was not going to work, so she broke off a vine from nearby, stretched it into the mud, and spread it on the ground with mud. As a result, the little bits of mud turned into little people, similar to those made by hand, which made the speed much faster. Seeing that the new method was working, Nuwa became more energetic, and people began to spread all over the land.

Nuwa created many people on the earth. She was happy and her loneliness was gone. She felt very tired and wanted to take a rest and walk around to see how those people lived.

One day, she walked to a place and saw that there were few people around, which was very strange. She leaned over and took a closer look, and saw many little people lying on the ground, motionless. She fiddled with them, but there was no movement. It turned out that there was no movement. This is the little man she first created. At this time, his hair is snow-white and he has died.

When Nuwa saw this situation, she was secretly worried. She thought that she had worked hard to create humans, but humans continued to age and die. If this continues, if we want to keep people in the world, why don't we keep making things forever? This is never the answer.

As a result, Nuwa followed the method of inheritance of all things in the world and asked humans to cooperate with men and women to reproduce. Because humans are God-like creatures and cannot be equal to animals, she established the institution of marriage to distinguish it from the promiscuity of animals. Later generations regarded Nuwa as the "divine matchmaker".

Four, ***Gong Touches the Mountain

***Gong is a god in ancient Chinese mythology. He is the god of floods in the northwest. Legend has it that he fought with Zhuanxu of the Yellow Emperor clan and was defeated. In anger, he touched Mount Buzhou with his head, causing the heaven and earth to tilt. Later, he was executed in the year of Zhuanxu. In addition, there is also a theory that Huang Gong was a minister of Yao. He was known as the "Four Evils" together with Huandou, Sanmiao, and Gun, and was exiled to Youzhou by Yao. "Shu. Yao Canon": "Liu Jinggong worked in Youzhou, released Yun Dou in Chongshan, fled three seedlings in Sanwei, killed Gun in Yushan, four sins, and the world is convinced." "Shan Hai Jing. Hai Nei Jing" ": "The wife of Emperor Yan and the son of Chishui, Tingwo gave birth to Yanju, Yanju gave birth to festivals, festivals gave birth to play implements, play implements gave birth to Zhurong, Zhurong descended to the river, and the craftsman was born.

"Also "Tian Wen Xun": "In the past, Jiang Gong fought with Zhuan Xu to be the emperor. In anger, he touched the mountains of Buzhou, causing the pillars of heaven to break and the earth to remain intact. The sky tilts to the northwest, so the sun, moon and stars move away; the earth is not satisfied with the southeast, so the water and the dust return. ”

Fifth, the dragon tasted hundreds of herbs

Version 1

In ancient times, people had nothing to eat, so they relied on raking grass seeds, picking wild fruits, and hunting birds and beasts to survive. Life. Sometimes when you eat something you shouldn't eat, you get poisoned and die. People get sick and don't know how to treat them. I was very worried about this, so I decided to taste the herbs and determine the properties of the medicine to cure everyone's misfortunes.

Once, Princess Huarui, the daughter of Shennong, fell ill and did not want to drink tea or eat. She felt uncomfortable all over and had a bloated abdomen. , no matter how to regulate it, it doesn’t matter. Shennong was in a dilemma. After thinking about it, he grabbed some grass roots, bark, wild fruits, and stone noodles, counted the twelve flavors, and asked Princess Huarui to eat it. I was busy and left.

After taking the medicine, Princess Huarui's stomach hurt like a knife. After a while, she gave birth to a baby bird, which everyone said was frightening. It was a monster and he quickly got it out. Unexpectedly, this little bird was very human. When his family annoyed him, he flew to the field to look for Shen Nong.

Shen Nong was dozing under the tree when he suddenly heard: " Chichi, grandpa! Chichi, grandpa! "When I looked up, I saw it was a little bird. I thought it was noisy and annoying, so I waved my arm and said, "Whoa!" and flew it away. After a while, the little bird flew back to the tree. .Also called: "Jiji, grandpa!" Chichi, grandpa! "Shennong felt strange, so he picked up a piece of garbage and threw it at the tree, which scared it away. After a while, the bird came back to the tree and called again: "Grandpa, Chi Chi! Grandpa, chi chi! As soon as Shen Nong thought about it and understood, he raised his left arm and said, "If you were my nephew, you would fall on my arm and neck!" "The little bird really flew down and landed on Shennong's left hand neck. Shennong looked closely at the little bird. It was all green and transparent. Even the intestines and intestines in its belly could be seen clearly. Shennong 1 The little bird took the saliva and swallowed it clearly. Shen Nong was very happy.

The exquisite and clear bird came home. When the family saw it, they were so frightened that they stepped back and said, "It's almost done, you monster, it's almost done..." Shennong laughed and said, "This is not a monster, it's a treasure!" Just call it a stamen bird! "

Shen Nong divided the twelve herbs that Princess Huarui had eaten into the pot and boiled them. Boil one and feed it to the bird. While feeding, he watched to see how the medicine went into the bird's belly. No matter where you go, there will be no change. Try it again with your own mouth and experience what this medicine feels like in your stomach. After taking the twelve medicines and tasting them, your limbs, three yin, three yang and ten will be gone. The second meridian.

Shen Nong carried the bird up the mountains, digging into old forests, picking various grass roots, bark, seeds, and fruits; catching various birds and animals, fish, turtles, shrimps, and insects; and digging for various stones and minerals. , feed the birds one by one, and taste them one by one. Observe and understand which meridians they go through in the body, what their nature is, and what diseases they cure. But each one only circulates in the twelve meridians. Over time, Shen Nong formulated the twelve meridians of the human body and the "Compendium of Materia Medica".

After thinking about it, Shen Nong still felt uneasy, so he continued to verify it with the bird in his hand. He came to Taihang Mountain and turned around. After traveling for ninety-nine and eighty-one days, I came to Xiaobeiding (Shen Nong Altar) to catch a worm and feed it to the birds. Unexpectedly, the worm was so poisonous that it broke the bird's intestines and died. , was very sad and cried loudly. After crying, he chose good wood and carved a bird, taking it with him wherever he went. Later, Shen Nong accidentally tasted the gallbladder in the Baicao depression on both sides of Xiaobeiding and died. To this day, on the top of the mountain northwest of Baicaowa, there is a stone that looks like a man bending over and hugging his belly. It is said that it was made by Shennong.

In order to commemorate Shennong’s creation of traditional Chinese medicine and herbal medicine, people put it. Xiaobeiding was renamed the Shennong Altar, and the Shennong Temple was built on the Shennong Altar. There was a statue of Shennong in the temple, holding a stamen bird in his left hand and taking medicine to his mouth.

Now, every day. There are many people watching the scenery of Shennong Altar and paying homage to the statue of Shennong.

Version 2

In ancient times, grains and weeds grew together, and medicines and flowers bloomed together. What kind of food could be used? No one can tell which herbs can cure diseases.

The common people of Li relied on hunting to make a living. The birds in the sky were hunted less and less, and the animals underground were hunted less and less, so people had no choice but to go hungry. Who wants to suffer from sores and diseases without medical treatment or medicine? Even if they die, they will have to shed their skin!

Shennong saw the suffering of the people and felt pain in his heart. How to satisfy the people's hunger? How to treat people's diseases? Shennong thought hard for three days and three nights, and finally came up with a solution.

On the fourth day, he led a group of subjects and set out from his hometown, Lishan, Suizhou, towards the northwest mountains. They walked and walked, their legs were swollen and their feet were calloused, but they kept walking. They walked for seven or seventy-nine days before arriving at a place. I saw one peak after another and one canyon after another. The mountains were covered with exotic flowers and plants, and the fragrance could be smelled from afar. As Shen Nong and the others were walking forward, a group of wolves, tigers, and leopards suddenly emerged from the canyon and surrounded them. Shennong immediately asked his subjects to wield the magic whip and beat the beasts. One group was driven away, and another group came in. The fight lasted for seven days and seven nights before all the beasts were driven away. Those tigers, leopards and pythons had scars drawn out by the divine whip, which later turned into markings on their skin.

At this time, the subjects said that it was too dangerous here and advised Shennong to go back. Shennong shook his head and said, "We can't go back! The people of Li are hungry, have nothing to eat, and are sick and have no medical treatment. How can we go back!" As he spoke, he led the way into the canyon and came to the foot of a vast mountain.

This mountain is half embedded in the clouds, surrounded by knife-cut cliffs. There are waterfalls hanging on the cliffs, covered with moss, smooth and slippery. It seems that there is no way to climb up without a ladder to the sky. The subjects again advised him to forget it and go back as soon as possible. Shennong shook his head: "We can't go back! The people are hungry, have nothing to eat, and are sick and have no medical treatment. How can we go back!" He stood on a small rocky hill, facing the high mountain, looking up, down, and to the left. Take a look, take a look, make up your mind, think of a way. Later, people called the small mountain peak where he stood "Wangnong Pavilion". Then, he saw several golden monkeys crawling over along the high hanging ancient vines and the rotten trees lying on the cliffside. Shen Nong had an idea, and he had it! He immediately called his subjects and asked them to cut wooden poles and canes and build a frame against the cliff. They built one layer a day, from spring to summer, from autumn to winter, regardless of wind or rain. The work never stops despite the snow and ice. It took a whole year and 360 floors to reach the top of the mountain. Legend has it that the scaffolding used by people to build buildings later was based on Shennong’s methods.

Shennong led his subjects to climb the wooden frame and reached the top of the mountain. Hey! The mountains are really a world of flowers and plants, red, green, white, yellow, all kinds of colors, densely clustered. Shennong liked it so much that he told his subjects to be on guard against wolves, worms, tigers and leopards. He personally picked flowers and plants and put them in his mouth to taste. In order to taste herbs here, find food and medicine for the people, Shennong asked his subjects to plant several rows of fir trees on the mountain as a city wall to protect against wild animals, and to build thatched huts inside the wall to live in. Later, people called the place where Shennong lived "Wucheng".

During the day, he led his subjects to the mountains to taste hundreds of herbs. At night, he asked his subjects to light a bonfire, and he recorded it in detail by lighting the fire: which herbs were bitter, which were hot, which were cool, and which were good. What can satisfy hunger and cure diseases are all written clearly.

Once, he put a piece of grass into his mouth and tasted it. Suddenly, the world was spinning and he fell down. The subjects hurriedly helped him sit up. He knew that he had been poisoned, but he could no longer speak. He had to use his last strength to point to a bright red Ganoderma lucidum plant in front of him and then to his mouth. The subjects hurriedly put the red Ganoderma lucidum into their mouths, chewed it, and fed it to his mouth. Shen Nong ate Ganoderma lucidum grass, and the poisonous gas was relieved, his head was not dizzy, and he could speak. Since then, people have said that Ganoderma lucidum can bring people back to life. The subjects were worried that it would be too dangerous for him to taste grass like this, so they all advised him to go back down the mountain. He shook his head again and said, "We can't go back! The people of Li are hungry and have nothing to eat, and they are sick and have no medical treatment. How can we go back!" After that, he continued to taste the herbs.

After tasting the flowers and plants on one mountain, he went to another mountain to taste them, and climbed up using wooden poles. I have tasted it for seventy-seven forty-nine days and traveled all over the mountains here. He tasted that wheat, rice, millet, and sorghum could satisfy his hunger, so he asked his subjects to bring the seeds back and let the people of Li people plant them. This is what later became the five grains. He tasted 365 kinds of medicinal herbs, wrote "Shen Nong's Materia Medica", and asked his subjects to take them back to treat diseases of the people all over the world.

After Shen Nong tasted the herbs and found grains to satisfy the hunger of the people and herbs to cure diseases, Shen Nong came to Huisheng Village and prepared to go back down the mountain. He looked around and saw that the wooden frames erected all over the mountain were gone.

It turned out that those wooden poles took root when they fell to the ground, and sprouted after being exposed to the rain. Over the years, they actually grew into a vast forest. Shennong was in trouble when suddenly a group of white cranes flew from the sky and took him and several of his protecting subjects to the heavenly court. From then on, Huisheng Village is filled with fragrance all year round.

In order to commemorate Shennong's achievements in tasting hundreds of herbs and benefiting the world, the people named this vast forest "Shennongjia". The Huisheng Village where Shennong ascended to heaven was renamed "Liuxiang Village".

Version 3

In ancient times, people ate wild grass, drank raw water, ate wild fruits on trees, and ate small bugs crawling on the ground, so they often got sick, poisoned, or injured. . Shen Nong taught humans how to sow grains and use their own labor to ensure sufficient means of living.

Shennong is a loving god. He has the head and body of an ox and is extremely powerful. He often helps poor people farm, and like an ox, he works hard to serve mankind. Human beings learned to farm from Shennong and had enough food, so they no longer had to worry about starvation.

However, many people often fall ill after eating a full meal. Some people are ill and do not feel well for a long time, and they can only survive until they die.

After Shen Nong knew about this kind of thing, he felt very anxious. He did not believe in witch doctors asking for divination, but he also had no way to cure the disease. So, he discussed with many people how to cure people's diseases and free them from the troubles of diseases. He tried many methods, such as roasting with fire, watering, sun exposure, freezing, etc. Although the symptoms of some diseases could be alleviated, the effect was not ideal.

One day, Shennong came to Jingang area in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, tasted the grass and trees, and found that the grass and trees had various flavors such as sweet, sour, bitter, spicy and so on. He gave grass with a bitter taste to a person who couldn't stop coughing, and the person's cough immediately eased a lot. He gave grass with a sour taste to a person with a stomach disease, and the person's stomach pain stopped.

It is very hard for the miracle doctor to taste the herbs. Not only does he have to climb mountains and walk to find the herbs, but tasting the herbs is also life-threatening. In search of medicine, Shennong was poisoned 70 times a day. Shennong was poisoned to the point of death and was in great pain. But with his strong physical strength, he stood up strong and continued to taste more vegetation. There are so many varieties of grass and trees on the earth that they are countless. In order to speed up the tasting of grass and trees, Shen Nong used a tool called "divine whip", also called "ochre whip", which was used to whip all kinds of grass and trees. Grass and trees, after being beaten with ocher whip, they are poisonous or non-poisonous, bitter or sweet, cold or hot, and various medicinal properties are naturally revealed. Shen Nong treated human diseases based on the different properties of these plants and trees. He once used the magic whip on Chengyang Mountain and discovered many herbs with significant effects, such as licorice to treat coughs, rhubarb to treat constipation, yellow lotus to reduce swelling, and so on. Therefore, later generations called Chengyang Mountain Shennongyuan, also called Medicine Mountain.

Human beings suffer from many diseases while living in the world, but few of the plants and trees discovered by Shennong have curative effects. In order to cure more diseases, he kept tasting more vegetation. Once, when he was tasting a vine-like plant with small yellow flowers climbing in the cracks of rocks, he ate the flowers and stems into his stomach. Not long after, he felt a sharp pain in his stomach, as if his intestines were broken. Come to life and die, rolling all over the ground. In the end, Shennong could not withstand it and was poisoned to death by the grass. Although Shen Nong was poisoned to death, he used his life to discover a highly poisonous grass. People named it Broken Heart Grass.

6. The Battle of the Deer:

According to legend, in ancient China, the Huangdi and Yandi tribes jointly fought a large-scale war against the Chiyou Jiuli tribe. During the patrilineal clan society period in China about four to five thousand years ago, it is said that the Huangdi tribe and the Yandi tribe, which arose in today's Guanzhong Plain and southwest Shanxi, merged and developed along the north and south banks of the Yellow River to the western part of the present-day North China Plain, and emerged in present-day Hebei. The Chiyou Jiuli people in the border areas of , Shandong and Henan developed from east to west. The two major tribal alliances fought for a long time in the Zhuolu Wilderness (Zhuolu, a vast wilderness filled with ancient rivers and Jizhuoliu between the Taihang Mountains and Mount Tai today) to compete for areas suitable for grazing, hunting and light farming. The Chiyou tribe were brave and fierce, and were good at fighting with horns. They united with the giant Kuafu tribe and the Sanmiao tribe to first expel the Yan Emperor, and then took advantage of the momentum to march north to Zhuolu (in today's Hebei Province) to attack the Huangdi tribe. Legend has it that Chi You led his clan 72 (or clan 81) to use the thick fog to besiege the Huangdi clan. The Huangdi clan led clans whose totems were bears, wolves, leopards, tigers, etc., and they were invincible in countless battles.

Later, with the help of the Xuannv tribe, he blew the horns and beat the Kui drums. Taking advantage of the confusion and fright of the Chiyou tribe, he broke through the siege of the fog, defeated Chiyou, and finally captured and killed him in the wilderness of Zhongji (i.e. Jizhou, today's Hebei region). Huangdi, the leader of the tribal alliance who won the war, became the common ancestor of the Chinese people. Emperor Yan is one of the greatest leaders of the Chinese nation. His ancestral temple is located in Weihe Park, Weibin District, Baoji, Shaanxi Province.

Seven, Hou Yi shot the sun

When the world was young, ten suns appeared in the sky. Their mother was the wife of the Eastern Emperor of Heaven. She often bathes her ten children in the East China Sea, the easternmost part of the world. After bathing, they perched on a big tree like birds, for at the center of each sun was a bird. Nine suns perch on the shorter branches, and another sun perches on the top of the tree, changing every night. Hou Yi's Sun Shooting Picture

When dawn heralds the coming of morning light, the sun perched on the treetops rides on a two-wheeled vehicle across the sky. The ten suns change every day and take turns crossing the sky, bringing light and heat to all things on the earth.

At that time, people lived very happily and harmoniously on the earth. People and animals live together as neighbors and friends. Animals keep their offspring in dens without fear of humans harming them. Farmers piled grains in fields without worrying about animals snatching them away. People work and rest on time, plow at sunrise and rest at sunset, and live a happy life. People and animals see each other sincerely and respect each other. At that time, people were grateful to the sun for bringing them time, light and joy.

However, one day, these ten suns thought that it would be fun if they traveled around the sky together. So, when dawn came, the ten suns climbed into the car together and embarked on a journey across the sky. At this time, people and everything on the earth suffered. The ten suns are like ten fire balls, and the heat they emit together scorches the earth.

The forest was on fire, burned to ashes, and many animals were burned to death. Those animals that were not burned to death in the fire fled among the crowd, frantically looking for food.

The rivers have dried up and the seas have dried up. All the fish died, and monsters in the water climbed ashore to steal food. Many people and animals died of thirst. Crops and orchards withered, and food supplies for people and livestock were cut off. Some people went out to look for food and were burned alive by the heat of the sun; others became food for wild beasts. People struggled to survive in the sea of ????fire.

At this time, there was a young and handsome hero named Hou Yi. He was an expert archer with excellent arrow skills and perfect shots. When he saw that people were living in misery, he was determined to help people escape from the sea of ??misery and shoot out the nine extra suns.

So Hou Yi climbed over ninety-nine mountains, crossed ninety-nine rivers, passed through ninety-nine canyons, and came to the East China Sea. He climbed a big mountain, and at the foot of the mountain was the vast sea. Hou Yi drew a crossbow with a weight of 10,000 kilograms, attached a arrow with a weight of 1,000 kilograms, aimed at the hot sun in the sky, and shot the arrow with a whoosh, and the first sun was shot down. Hou Yi drew his crossbow again, attached a sharp arrow, and shot with a buzzing sound, shooting down two suns at the same time. At this time, there are still seven suns in the sky staring with red eyes. Hou Yi felt that the sun was still very hot, so he shot the third arrow fiercely. The arrow was so powerful that it shot down four suns. The other suns were so frightened that they trembled and spun around. In this way, Hou Yi shot arrows at the sun one after another, without any miss, and shot down nine suns. The nine suns hit by arrows could not survive and died one after another. Their feathers fell to the ground, and their light and heat disappeared one by one. The earth becomes darker and darker until finally only the light of one sun remains.

However, the remaining sun was so frightened that it swayed in the sky in panic and soon hid in the sea.

There was no sun in the sky, and it immediately turned into darkness. All things cannot be nourished by sunlight, poisonous snakes and beasts are rampant everywhere, and people can no longer live. They then asked the Emperor of Heaven to summon the tenth sun to come out so that all human beings could multiply.

One morning, the colorful morning glow shone on the east sea, and then a golden sun emerged from the sea!

When people saw the brilliance of the sun, they danced with joy and cheered in unison.

From then on, the sun rises from the eastern seaside every day and hangs in the sky, warming the world, allowing crops to grow and all things to survive.

Hou Yi was awarded the title of General by the Emperor of Heaven because of his unparalleled achievements in saving all things by shooting the sun. Later, he married the fairy Chang'e and lived a happy life.

Eight, Chang'e flies to the moon

Chang'e flies to the moon is an ancient myth. "Chang'e", also known as "Chang'e", was the wife of the marksman Hou Yi. "Zhunnanzi·Lan Mingxun": "Yi asked the Queen Mother of the West for the elixir of immortality, and Chang'e stole it and flew to the moon. She was saddened and could not continue it." Gao Yuan's note: "Hang'e, Yi's wife; Yi asked the Queen Mother of the West for the elixir of death, but before she could take it, Chang'e stole it and ate it, becoming an immortal and running into the moon to become the moon spirit." The first volume of "Ji Xue Ji" cites the ancient version of "Zhunnanzi". Under the sentence "Hang'e steals and flies to the moon", there are twelve words: "Hold your body on the moon, it is a toad, and it is a moon essence", which are removed from the current version. go. Chang'e is Chang Xi who was born on the 12th day of the lunar month as recorded in "The Classic of Mountains and Seas: Dahuang Xi Jing". The ancient pronunciation of "Xi" means "E", which gradually evolved into Chang'e which means "flying to the moon". "Selected Works" notes two quotes from "Gui Zang", both of which say that Chang'e took the elixir and flew to the moon. We know that the myth of Chang'e has been circulated since ancient times, and it didn't start from "Zhunnanzi". Zhuang Daji is quoted in the Annotation of Honglie Collection of Zhunnan as saying: "Heng'e is mentioned in all the books, but "Yilin" is written as "Heng'e". The annotation of "Selected Works" quotes this work as "Chang'e". King Zhunnan should avoid saying "Heng'e". "Yingzuoheng" is suspected of "Yilin". Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty was named Heng, so he was tabooed. Heng'e was known as Heng'e, and Heng also means permanent. "Jijie" also quoted Hong Yixuan as saying: "There is no word "姮" in Shuowen, which was created by later generations."
The folk legend is slightly different. Generally speaking, it is said that Chang'e secretly ate the elixir of immortality that her husband begged from the Queen Mother of the West. , flew to the Moon Palace. However, it is too cold to be in the high place. The so-called "Chang'e should regret stealing the elixir, and the blue sea and sky are in her heart every night" is a portrayal of her feeling of loneliness. After Chang'e confided her regrets to her husband, she added: "I usually can't come down. Tomorrow is when the moon is full. You can make balls out of flour, round them like a full moon, put them in the northwest direction of the house, and then call my name continuously. "I can go home at the third watch." The next day, I did as my wife asked. At that time, the Chang'e fruit flew from the middle of the moon and the couple reunited. The custom of making moon cakes for Chang'e during the Mid-Autumn Festival was also formed. The Chang'e picture that expresses this plot should be the emotional expression of people's longing for a beautiful reunion and a happy life.
