The strength of the buffering capacity can be judged by the following aspects:
1. The size of the buffering capacity: The buffering capacity refers to the amount of one element added to change the pH of the buffer solution by 1. The amount of a substance that is a strong acid or a strong base. The larger the buffer capacity, the stronger the buffering capability.
2. Buffer ratio: Buffer ratio refers to the ratio of anti-acid components and anti-alkali components in the buffer solution. When the buffer ratio is closer to 1, the buffer capacity is larger and the buffering capability is stronger. On the contrary, the further the buffer ratio deviates from 1, the smaller the buffer capacity and the weaker the buffer capability. When the buffer ratio is equal to 1, the buffer capacity is maximum.
