Is the engine of Flying Leopard made in China?

The engine used by Flying Leopard fighter is made in China, named "Qinling", which is also the first engine product successfully made in China by purchasing patents. From introduction to localization, it has experienced 30 years of industrial upgrading. As early as 1972, China began to contact Britain to discuss the introduction of rolls royce civil turbofan engines.

1974, to our surprise, China obtained the patent of Speer's military engine, which was the top product at that time. Although we applied for a patent, China's new industrial materials and other technologies were too backward at that time. It was not until 20 13 that this localization road was completed, and it was equipped on the JH -7 Flying Leopard fighter, which also made Flying Leopard a main fighter completely independent of imported engines.

Extended data:

Flying leopard has good flying performance at low altitude. The machine adopts the normal tandem two-seat layout, the conventional semi-hard shell bee waist-shaped fuselage, and the tail is equipped with ventral fins. The swept upper wing with medium aspect ratio has serrated leading edge and obvious dihedral angle, the outer wing has aerodynamic torsion and the wing root has rounded corners. Oblique fixed axis full motion, middle and lower flat tail, large swept back, single vertical tail.

Two turbofan engines are installed side by side in the rear fuselage, and the air inlets are located at the roots of the two wings of the fuselage. Flying Leopard is equipped with a 23mm double-barrel gun at the lower right of the front fuselage, which has strong bomb hanging ability, can hang air-to-air missiles, air-to-ship missiles, rocket launchers, bombs and other weapons, and is equipped with an advanced airborne fire control system, which can accurately strike and air combat ground and sea targets.
