Recently, Singapore has developed a beer that can improve human immunity and applied for a patent. What happened?
According to reports, the team of Chen Meizhi, a student from the College of Food Science and Technology of the National University of Singapore, said at a news conference that the health function of this new type of beer lies in probiotics. Because the acid in hops can inhibit the survival of probiotics, no beer on the market contains probiotics.
Probiotics are a kind of active microorganisms that are beneficial to the host. Probiotics in humans and animals mainly include Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium and Actinomyces. Researchers believe that taking more than 654.38 billion live probiotics every day can improve immunity, improve gastrointestinal function and be beneficial to health.
Chen Meizhi's team said that they reformed the traditional beer brewing process, and used a fermented lactic acid bacteria as a probiotic microorganism to produce a L26 probiotic with strong resistance to hops acid, thus producing beer containing probiotics.
It is reported that the National University of Singapore has applied for a patent for this new beer and tried to commercialize it.
If this new beer is commercialized, are you interested in having a drink?
