South China University of Technology (hereinafter referred to as "South China University of Technology"), located in Guangzhou and directly under the Ministry of Education, is a national key university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Guangdong Provincial People's Government. Ranked among the national "double first-class" (Class A), "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project", and was selected as the subject innovation and intelligence introduction project in colleges and universities.
At the 15th China Patent Awards Conference held in Beijing, South China University of Technology won the China Patent Excellence Award for three patents: Remote Control Method and System for Terminal Environmental Temperature and Cold Source Load of Central Air Conditioner, Single Longitudinal Mode Fiber Laser with Low Noise, Narrow Linewidth and High Power, and Multi-stage Drawing Manufacturing Method for Micro-grooved Tube.
As of July, 20 18, South China University of Technology has 4,503 faculty members, including 242 full-time teachers, 3 academicians of China Academy of Sciences, 5 academicians of China Academy of Engineering, 28 double-hired academicians, 4 national famous teachers and 23 winners of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Postgraduate tutors 1934 (including 680 doctoral tutors).
School emblem:
The design theme is the landmark archway of South China University of Technology and Hua Mu Cotton in Guangzhou. The overall outline is circular, with blue as the main tone and blue and white alternating. Above the outer ring is "South China University of Technology" in Chinese and "South China University of Technology" in English.
The white stripe under the archway can be regarded as the cornerstone of the archway, "to set off the whole and give people an upward feeling, indicating that the foundation of running a school is heavy." The "kapok" above the archway is the city flower of Guangzhou, which symbolizes the vigorous development of the school. It also shows that the school is at the forefront of reform and opening up and is an important place for cultivating talents, indicating that the school is thriving and talented people come forth in large numbers.
