The Department of Orthopaedics of Changzhou First People's Hospital was established in 1957. For decades, through the unremitting efforts of several generations, orthopedic medical technology has always been at the advanced level in Jiangsu Province. 1988 was listed as a key clinical specialty in Changzhou, a key clinical specialty in Jiangsu Province in 2002 and a key medical discipline in Suzhou University in 2003, with 5 graduate tutors.
Orthopedics has always adhered to patient-centered, humanized medical services, strict medical quality management, and technology for survival and development, and has formed various sub-specialties such as spine, joints, trauma, hands and feet, children and bone tumors. Routine internal fixation for severe trauma of limbs, pelvis and spine; Carry out the diagnosis and treatment of various compound injuries; Thousands of artificial joint replacements have been successfully performed for hip, knee, shoulder and ankle joints. Successful revision of hip and knee joint; Custom joint replacement of hip, knee and pelvis caused by tumor, and simultaneous replacement of hip and knee of both lower limbs. In the aspect of spine, it is difficult to perform occipitocervical fusion, anterior and posterior cervical surgery, anterior thoracolumbar surgery, debridement, fusion and fixation of spinal tuberculosis lesions. Routine, the result is very good. At present, orthopedics is working hard on two hot issues: one is minimally invasive technology, and the other is non-fusion dynamic fixation method of spine. Whether it is the application of Liss steel plate and LCP steel plate in trauma, various examination and treatment operations under arthroscope, the repair and reconstruction of ligaments under arthroscope, or the application of non-fusion dynamic fixation techniques such as balloon angioplasty, Coflex, wallis and Denises in the field of spine, all of them have achieved good results and relieved the pain of patients.
The department actively introduces and implements various new technologies and new therapies. In recent years, he has undertaken more than 10 scientific research projects at all levels, won 2 ministerial-level scientific and technological progress awards, 5 provincial-level new technology introduction awards, and many municipal-level scientific and technological progress awards, and won 2 national invention patents and 7 utility model patents. In 2006, the Department established a cooperation center with the Department of Orthopaedics of Petia-Salpetia Hospital, the largest public hospital in France, and in 2009, it cooperated with the French Orthopaedic Association, becoming the only designated cooperative hospital of the Association in China. Many doctors in our department went to France for further study, and now they have all returned to China. French experts have also come to the hospital for surgical demonstrations and lectures many times.
