1. Introduction to the College

Ili Normal University is a general higher normal school managed by the Education Department of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and has a long history. The school was formerly known as Xinjiang Provincial Yili College established in 1948. It was renamed Yili Normal School in 1953. In 1980, it was upgraded to a general undergraduate college with the approval of the State Council and named Yili Normal University.
