There are five common diseases:
1 carpal tunnel syndrome
It is common in occupations that often need to flex their wrists for a long time, such as housewives, computer typists, porters, etc. Due to the long-term flexion and extension of the wrist, chronic strain will occur, and the pressure in the carpal tunnel of the hand will increase, which will compress the median nerve and cause disease. At this time, the thumb, forefinger, middle finger and ring finger controlled by the median nerve will feel abnormal or numb, and even feel pain and discomfort.
2. Cervical spondylosis
Cervical spondylosis is common in long-term desk workers, such as writers, programmers, civil servants, assembly line workers, or "low-headed people" who use mobile phones excessively. Keeping the neck in the same posture for a long time is prone to chronic strain, which will lead to ligament thickening and disc swelling and prolapse. When nerve roots or vertebral arteries are compressed, symptoms such as numbness and dizziness will appear, among which hand numbness is one of the common symptoms.
3. Diabetes
Most people will not feel any discomfort in the early stage of diabetes, but when the disease progresses to a certain extent, they will feel abnormal, which is due to the complications of diabetic peripheral neuropathy. The main clinical manifestations are numbness, acupuncture, ant crawling and electric shock-like sensation from the distal ends of hands and feet, which generally appear symmetrically and asymmetrically.
4. Cerebral infarction
It is caused by the blockage of blood vessels in the brain, mostly acute attacks. However, according to the range and duration of infarction, the clinical symptoms are different. If the initial infarction area is small, it may only show weakness or numbness of one limb, and usually one hand and one foot will appear at the same time. If the treatment is timely, it will have little effect on the later related functions, otherwise it will leave sequelae and affect the quality of life.
5. Vitamin B 12 deficiency
Vitamin B 12 is a coenzyme that catalyzes many biochemical reactions in the body. It can participate in the formation of red blood cells in bone marrow, promote the synthesis of protein, and protect nerves from injury. Therefore, vitamin B 12 deficiency will cause megaloblastic anemia and peripheral neuropathy, and peripheral neuropathy will also lead to numbness.
Hand numbness for no reason is abnormal, and it is not so easy to find out the reason, so it is best to go to the hospital for relevant examination. In particular, hand numbness caused by stroke can usually be accompanied by slurred speech, weakness of one limb, facial paralysis and so on. Once found, you should call 120 immediately, go to a nearby conditional hospital for treatment as soon as possible, restore the function of brain cells as soon as possible, and avoid sequelae as much as possible.
