What kind of tools are used for acrylic carving?

Acrylic, also known as plexiglass, formerly known as resin plate methyl acrylate. Acrylic can be easily customized into different shapes, which is suitable for fields requiring high sensitivity, such as heart valves, contact lenses or camera lenses.

At the same time, it can also be used in the cab, anti-collision helmet or skylight of aircraft. No wonder it is widely used in the bath environment that requires hygiene, safety and beauty. Acrylic is thermoformed, and the forming temperature of the sheet is 150℃- 160℃.

The surface hardness of acrylic board is equivalent to that of aluminum, which is harder than other plastics but can't stand iron. Ceramics are hard to rub and collide with.

Propylene characters are classified according to their shapes. There are three names in the standard: a: flat drum character b: sharp drum character c: round drum character.

Other shapes are basically evolved from these three. For example, a pointed drum can evolve into a diamond, and a round drum can evolve into an arc, but the choice of knives and the depth of knives are different, and the shapes of characters are completely different.

A: Production and requirements of flat drum characters: use copy paper to trace the required characters on the density board, leaving 5cm on each side, install the corresponding straight knife with a manual engraving machine, and open the mold along the outer line of the characters (the inner line follows, others follow the outer line).

After the mold is opened, flatten the mold with a file. Then use a file and sandpaper to polish the sides and corners of the convex and concave dies of the characters into circular arcs, which must be smooth and even, and finally use sandpaper to polish them smoothly. You can also use a computer engraving machine to carve the mold, and after adding enough height, you can smooth the edges and corners.

B: Production and requirements of sharp drum characters: Step 1: The production method is the same as that of flat drum characters, except that the sides and corners are not polished into arcs for the time being. Step 2: heightening and molding.

According to the size of the word and the width of the stroke (the widest pen has high cost performance), draw a middle line from the second floor to see if the inclination of both sides is 90 degrees right angle, and use this angle to locate the heightening thickness. Then choose a suitable 45-degree bevel cutter and install it on the multi-function milling machine. Literally, open a sharp drum downward, and use 502 glue or three-second glue to drop glue on each part where the sharp point is gradually punched. This is relatively hard, and the mold will not be damaged when pressed, and there is no sharp point.

C: Production and requirements of drum characters:

Step 1: the method of making flat drum characters is the same as that of making flat drum characters, except that the edges and corners are not ground into arcs for the time being.

Step 2: heightening and molding. The increased thickness should be proportional to the size of the characters, and the things made in harmony are beautiful. The steps are roughly the same as the sharp drum characters, except that the knife is a round knife.
