The College of Arts and Sciences of Jiangsu Normal University was founded in April 2000 and became an independent college at undergraduate level with the approval of the Ministry of Education in May 2005. There are more than 100 full-time undergraduates 1 1000, and there are 4 undergraduate majors1,involving seven disciplines, namely, literature, science, engineering, management, economics, law and art. The students are from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong and other 18 provinces (cities).
Focusing on the development goal of building a first-class and well-known high-level applied technology college and innovative industrial university in the province, the college always adheres to the market demand and social and economic development, constantly optimizes the professional structure, and strives to strengthen the construction of professional clusters. Automation, mechanical design and manufacturing and automation, software engineering, financial engineering and marketing were selected as brand majors in Jiangsu universities, and software engineering was selected as special needs majors in Xuzhou.

The college has two campuses, Quanshan and Pan 'an Lake, with a total area of 1 324.57 mu and a total construction area of 4 1.330 1 000 square meters. The newly-built Pan 'an Lake Campus is located in an important science and education innovation zone in Xuzhou City, adjacent to Pan 'an Lake Wetland, a national eco-tourism demonstration zone, with unique geographical location, beautiful scenery, elegant environment and perfect facilities.
