What are the technical methods of pest control?

Sheng Xing Center for Prevention and Control is committed to the monitoring, identification and integrated control of agricultural and forest pests. Pest control usually includes the following technical methods:

1、? Seedling quarantine

Do a good job in the import and export quarantine of seedlings at the import and export ports of airports, ports and stations to control the spread of dangerous pests and diseases.

2、? Insect-resistant breeding

Breeding and popularizing excellent tree species with strong resistance to pests and diseases, cultivating strong seedlings without pests and diseases for afforestation, and prohibiting indiscriminate logging to make the layout of tree species more reasonable and diversified.

3、? biotic-control

Microbial preparation. Using microbial metabolites to control forest diseases and insect pests, such as polyoxin and avermectin, is widely used.

Natural enemy insects. Artificially increase the number of natural enemy insects, breed a large number of natural enemy insects to fight pests, and then put them into the forest to be eliminated through pest control.

Good bird. Introducing some beneficial birds in areas with dense pests, creating suitable living environment for them, making them multiply, is helpful to eliminate pests.

Sex pheromone. Lure the same kind out and destroy it through sex pheromones. It is a safe, efficient and convenient method to trap Monochamus alternatus by placing pheromone traps to control Monochamus alternatus in the forest. ?

4、? Chemical control

When the damage area of pests is large, effective chemical pesticides should be selected according to the characteristics of pests, but long-term use of pesticides is easy to cause environmental pollution and pests are prone to drug resistance.

5、? Physical prevention and control

Artificial hunting. Artificial killing and crushing are carried out in areas where pests are concentrated. Insect-infested trees should be treated by burning and fumigation. Clean it up thoroughly

Trap and kill. According to the physiological habits and light sensitivity of different insects, solar traps or solar insecticidal lamps with specific light sources are placed to trap and kill all kinds of insect adults. Or put a trap tree containing wood attractant in the forest to lure adults to lay eggs, and then treat the trap tree.

Barrier method. Manually set poison rings, rubber rings, or wrap plastic on the trunk to prevent pests from climbing trees to lay eggs, or directly eliminate them.

6、? High temperature treatment. Use high temperature to kill pests or pathogens. For example, high-frequency electric waves are used to kill pests, and larch leaves are controlled by burning leaves.

7、? Application of new prevention and control equipment

Because it is widely distributed in forest areas, it is very limited to rely solely on traditional manual management. With the continuous development and improvement of 3S technology, digital technology can monitor and predict the distribution of forest pests in real time more intuitively, quickly and accurately, and avoid the disadvantages brought by traditional manual management.

In the case of insufficient infrastructure and manpower, it is an efficient and low-cost solution to seek the cooperation of professional pest control companies.
