On May 25th 12: 30, the police on duty of Xiaochang County Forest Public Security Bureau received an alarm from the people in Dian Wei town, saying that someone had cut down poplar trees in the south beach of Jiulong Bridge in Dian Wei town, with a large amount of logging. After receiving the alarm, the police immediately rushed to the scene. After on-site inspection, it was found that the logging amount had reached the standard of criminal filing, and Xiaochang County Forestry Bureau did not apply for the logging license of this logging point.

On May 26th, Xiaochang Forest Public Security Bureau filed a case for investigation on suspicion of deforestation, and hired Xiaogan Forestry Investigation Planning and Design Institute to identify the poplar accumulation in the south beach of Jiulong Bridge. The appraisal opinion is that 384 poplar trees have been felled, with a cumulative volume of 142.2773 cubic meters. At about 0: 00 on June 3rd, the suspect Tang surrendered himself to the Forest Public Security Bureau of Xiaochang County and voluntarily confessed the facts of the crime.

Tang Jing, introduced by a friend, bought poplars in the southeast floodplain of Zhenjiulongqiao, hired workers to cut down poplars, and prepared to cut the cut poplars into 2.6 meters of wood and transport them to the floodplain of Wuhe Village for loading and delivery.
