Anhui university of finance is short for "An Cai". It is a multi-disciplinary university of finance and economics, focusing on economy, management and law. The school was founded in Hefei, Anhui Province,1May, 959, when the school name was Anhui Finance and Trade College.

In February, 2000, the State Council decided to set up Anhui Finance and Trade College jointly funded by the central and local governments, with Anhui provincial government as the main management. In May 2004, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was renamed Anhui Finance College.
Anhui University of Finance is the first batch of universities with the right to award bachelor's degrees and the third batch of universities with the right to award master's degrees.
