Consulting relationship between consultants and visitors

The consultation relationship between consultants and visitors is introduced as follows:

The consultation relationship includes emotions, attitudes and corresponding expressions, including all the conscious and unconscious emotions, attitudes and behaviors of both the consultant and the visitor in the consultation.

1. Definition: As for the definition of consulting relationship, researchers have not formed a * * * understanding, and even most researchers have no clear definition when talking about consulting relationship.

Generally speaking, there are three main definitions of consulting relationship. In the broadest sense, the consultation relationship should include all the conscious and unconscious emotions, attitudes and behaviors of both the consultant and the visitor in the consultation. The definition of the second category is an appropriate narrowing of the definition of the first category.

For example, Gerso and Carter defined the relationship as "consulting the feelings and attitudes expressed by both parties to the other party and the way to express these feelings and attitudes". This definition does not include all kinds of intervention techniques used by consultants.

The third definition is further narrowed, only emphasizing emotion and attitude, and even abandoning the way. Some researchers only emphasize the therapeutic part of the relationship, that is, the affection, sincerity and unconditional positive concern described by Rogers.

Second, the type:

Equality In this consulting relationship, the consultant and the visitor are completely equal. Visitors regard consultants as trustworthy confidences; Psychological counselors pay attention to listening and understanding, which promotes the self-understanding of visitors. Patient-centered Rogesr therapy falls into this category.
