According to the plan, there will be high-speed railways such as Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway, Hangzhou-Ningbo high-speed railway and Hangzhou-Huangzhou high-speed railway, and ordinary railways such as Shanghai-Kunming railway and Xiao Yong railway. Compared with before the transformation, it will become a large hub railway station integrating high-speed railway and ordinary railway.

In the initial operation of Hangzhou South Railway Station, 63 pairs of passenger trains were stopped, including 39 pairs of ordinary trains, 20 pairs of EMU trains (including 6 pairs of centralized trains) and 4 pairs of local trains. There are 0 pairs of EMU trains (including 6 bullet trains), including G-prefix train 1.5 pairs and D-prefix train 18.5 pairs (including 6 bullet trains), which are mainly bound for Shanghai Hongqiao, Fuzhou, Xiamen North, Shenzhen North, Changsha South, Guiyang North, Lishui, Huangshan North, Zhengzhou East, Xi 'anbei and xuzhou east.
4 pairs of city railways refer to S-prefix trains running between Hangzhou South and Shaoxing (Shangyu), including S2 10 1 3 from Hangzhou South and S2 103 from Shangyu to Hangzhou South, S2 104 and S265438. For the first time, the intercity connection between Hangzhou and Shaoxing was realized, which better met the commuting needs of regional passenger flow.
