Tianshan Mountains run through the central part of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, dividing Xinjiang into north and south parts. South Xinjiang is bounded by Tianshan Mountains, with South Xinjiang in the south and North Xinjiang in the north. G2 17 National Highway and Tuhe Expressway both pass through Tianshan Mountain, among which G2 17 National Highway extends southwest from Altay region, passes through Ili Valley, passes through Tianshan Mountain, passes through Tarim Basin and finally reaches Kashgar. Tuhe Expressway starts from Turpan, passes through Urumqi, Korla and other cities, crosses Tianshan Mountain and reaches Kashgar. The Tianshan Mountains crossed by the two roads are the same mountain range, but they are located in different geographical locations.
