On April 9th, 2000/kloc-0, the signing ceremony of the joint venture contract for the establishment of Shanghai New Holland Agricultural Machinery Co., Ltd. was held in the Pearl Hall of Shanghai International Conference Center on the Huangpu River in Pudong New Area, which was jointly invested by Shanghai Tractor Internal Combustion Engine Company, a subsidiary of Shanghai Automotive Industry (Group) Corporation and CNH, a subsidiary of Italy Fiat Group. Leonardo Baron Seri, Consul General of Italy in Shanghai; Paul Monte Ferino, CEO of CNH; Lauder Gacher, Vice President of CNH and General Manager of Agricultural Business Development; General Manager of CNH China Affairs, Pan Rui; Lucio Catone will be the general manager of Shanghai New Holland Agricultural Machinery Co., Ltd.; Hu Maoyuan, President of SAIC; Li, General Manager of Shanghai Tractor Internal Combustion Engine Company; Shanghai Foreign Investment Committee, Municipal Economic Commission, SAIC, Shangtuonei, Harbin New Holland Beidahuang Tractor Co., Ltd., and Shen Quan, Deputy General Manager of Shangtuo presided over the signing ceremony. Paolo Montferino, CEO of CNH, Hu Maoyuan, president of SAIC, Lauder Gachet, vice president of CNH and general manager of agricultural business development, and Li, general manager of Shangtuo, all signed the joint venture contract, marking that the largest joint venture project in China agricultural machinery industry has fallen to Shangtuo so far.
In March, 2008, Shanghai New Holland was awarded as "Advanced Unit for Implementing Customer Satisfaction Project in Shanghai in 2007".

On May 12, the strongest earthquake occurred in Wenchuan area since the founding of the People's Republic of China, with a magnitude of 8, causing huge casualties and property losses. This serious disaster has aroused great concern of the CPC Central Committee and the government and touched the hearts of hundreds of millions of compatriots. Under the unified deployment of SAIC, Shanghai New Holland Agricultural Machinery Co., Ltd. quickly organized donations, and raised more than 80,000 yuan in just two days, expressing its deep affection for the people in the disaster area.
In order to further support the reconstruction of the disaster area, the company decided to donate a SNH50 horsepower tractor and supporting agricultural machinery (with a new driving shed and Tuo Dou) worth 6.5438 million yuan to the disaster area for production reconstruction. It is reported that the Shanghai Red Cross Society has accepted the application for donation and donated tractors to send express mail to the disaster area.
