Why can't a box be converted into an editable spline in 3ds max?

Reason:

Because editable splines are only used for two-dimensional objects, and boxes are three-dimensional objects, you need to use the Editable Polygon or Editable Grid command to modify boxes.

Editable splines can be used as follows:

1, only applicable to 2D objects.

2. 1) Click Modify panel Triangle → Edit Spline.

2) Right-click 2D drawing-Convert to editable spline.

Note: Difference: You can't change the parameters of the original image when right-clicking is converted into spline; When modifying the surface

You can change the board when you add it.

3. Attachment: Multiple 2D lines are merged into one, which is convenient for modification. Multtach: mainly for multiple objects. Note: You cannot associate (copy) objects when attaching them. When drawing 2D graphics, the checkmark at the back can be cancelled or appended.

Note: The difference between attachment and group: the attribute of attachment object will change, but the attribute of group object will not change.

4. Point: Vertex "1"

(1) Display Points (Display Vertex Number) Geometry:

(2) Break: Break a point into two points.

(3) Thinning: Adding points does not change the position and shape of the object, but if you want to change the position and shape, you must use mobile tools to change it.

(4) Insert: Click where you want to add some points, and then move the mouse to determine the shape.

(5) Welding: merge two points into one point (select two points to adjust parameters and click the welding button) (reduce the number of points).

Automatic welding: check automatic welding, adjust parameters, select welding point, and drag to another point (the number of points is reduced).

Note: The objects to be welded during welding must be the same object or an additional object.

(6) Connection: Connect two points with a straight line (the number of points remains the same).

Method: Click the Connect button-point to one point and drag it to another point, and then release the pointer when it changes.

(7) Fillet: First select a point-set the fillet value-click the "Fillet" button or enter or drag the triangle behind.

(8) Chamfering example: armchair

Top view: rectangle 120* 155, the front view is copied upward, edit spline) → attach) → two figures → delete the right side of the top view → connect) → two vertical sides of the front view → select point-to-point fillet → draw chamfer box.

Example: Stairs

(1) Make a rectangle in the front view: 50× 100.

(2) Enter the modify panel-Line segment "2"-Delete the lower left line segment-Exit the second layer (3) Tools-Array, x: 100, y:-50, Quantity: 10 (4) Select the line to be separated and check the copy.

(5) Multiple attachments (merged objects)

(6)No. "1", select two points to be connected-connection.

(7) Ctrl+A-welding: 0. 1 (in-situ welding)-exit the level of 1.

(8) Modify the panel-extrude) 5. Paragraph "2" (1): Except.

Method: First, select a line segment and enter the number of points to be added-click the "Segment" button. Note: when dividing a straight line, it will be divided equally; If you split a curve, it will be non-bisected. (2) separation: separation

Separates the selected line segment from the current drawing and becomes an independent object.

(Same picture: redirection: completely separated from the original picture. Copy: copy and separate from the original)

6. Rack

1) Contour: Add a contour to a two-dimensional object to make the thickness expand outward after extrusion, and shrink inward when it is negative. For example: door cover.

Draw a rectangle in the front view-right click to convert it into an editable line -2, delete the following line -3, outline: -80- modify panel-stretch: stretch 245.

2) Two-dimensional Boolean operation: the object of Boolean (spline level) Boolean operation must be a whole (additional).

Select the object to be operated → select the operation mode → click the Boolean operation button → click the object in the scene.

Note: If the operation cannot be completed, you can use the trim command to complete it, and the object must be welded after completion.

3) Pruning: Pruning

Method: Select the object as the boundary-click Trim to trim-and then click the line to trim. Note: Hang the thread before trimming, and weld the spot after trimming. 4) extension: extension.

Methods: Select the object as the extension boundary-click "Extend"-and then click the line to be extended (3) Mirror: Mirror (4) Separation: Separation.
