Guiyang Railway High-speed Railway School was established with the approval of the former Ministry of Railways in the early 1980s. With a long history, it is the only national-level senior technical school in the railway industry in Guizhou Province, with distinctive school-running characteristics.
Guiyang Railway Engineering School is a national training base for high-skilled talents. Guizhou demonstrative secondary vocational schools, provincial high-skilled personnel training bases, provincial construction special operation training institutions, provincial retired soldier skills training institutions, teaching points of Southwest Jiaotong University Network College, teaching points of self-study examination of Guizhou University and correspondence teaching points of Changsha Institute of Technology are pilot secondary vocational schools of modern apprenticeship system of the Ministry of Education.

Guiyang Railway Engineering School was established in July, 1984. Its predecessor was the Party School of the Fifth Engineering Bureau of the Ministry of Railways. Established in 1979. 1999, the Party School of the Fifth Railway Bureau merged with Guiyang Railway Technical School. In 2004, the Party School was renamed China Railway Fifth Bureau (Group) Training Center. Now it is a national key senior technical school and a provincial key secondary vocational school, with a team.
Since its establishment, it has gone through the development process of several mergers and renaming, and has been affiliated to China Railway Fifth Bureau (Group) Company. The school is located in the picturesque and spring-like forest city of Guiyang. Located in the urban area, with convenient transportation, elegant environment and green ground. The campus covers a total area of more than 36,000 square meters, with a building area of more than 22,000 square meters.
