The latest news of Canada's border opening in August

Canada's entry policy will be adjusted according to the epidemic situation. If you have any friends who want to study in Canada, you can refer to the following strategies and prepare relevant materials. At present, entering Canada is a little looser than before.

Canada's entry policy As early as July 19, Canada announced the related policy of opening entry in stages, which was intended to start with American citizens and then spread to all countries. According to the actual implementation and current policies, Canada's entry policy requirements are summarized as follows:

On August 9, the US-Canada border restrictions were relaxed and the two-week compulsory isolation policy was exempted. On August 9 th, it was opened to American citizens and PR, and the hotel isolation policy was cancelled. The number of entry and exit airports has increased from 5 to 9.

From September 7, passengers who have been vaccinated with vaccines approved by Canada in various countries in the world can enter Canada without isolation. At present, the vaccines recognized in Canada are Pfizer, Madena, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson.

The specific access policies that took effect on August 9 mainly include:

1. Cancel hotel isolation and arrival detection.

According to the Federal Ministry of Health, with the increase of vaccination rate in Canada, the decrease of cases of coronavirus pneumonia-19 and the reduction of pressure on medical care ability, the requirement of three-night mandatory hotel accommodation for all passengers arriving by air will be cancelled from the early morning of August 9 12:0 1. However, all travelers must still provide isolation plans and be prepared for isolation in case they are determined not to meet the necessary requirements at the border. If fully vaccinated passengers meet the requirements, they can be exempted from entry quarantine 14 days.

2. Some passengers canceled the nucleic acid test after arriving in the country.

From August 9, the Canadian government is adjusting its post-arrival detection strategy for travelers who are fully vaccinated. Using the new border detection and monitoring plan at airports and land border crossings, passengers who are fully vaccinated do not need to be tested on arrival, unless they are randomly selected and need to complete nucleic acid testing on 1 day. There is no change in the requirements for compulsory entry inspection of unvaccinated passengers.

3. American citizens who have been fully vaccinated and American residents who hold green cards do not need to be isolated when visiting Canada.

Starting from the morning of August 9th 12:0 1, fully vaccinated American citizens and permanent residents living in the country will be able to visit Canada within two weeks without being isolated.

Inbound passengers who do not have to travel must be vaccinated at least 14 days before entering Canada.

With few exceptions, all passengers must use it.

ArriveCAN (application or portal) submits their travel information. If fully vaccinated passengers are eligible to enter Canada and meet certain standards, they do not need to be quarantined when they arrive in Canada.

The number of entry airports has increased from 5 to 9.

In order to further support these new measures, Transport Canada is expanding the scope of existing navigational notices. From August 9th, the number of entry airports will increase from five to the following nine:

Halifax International Airport (newly opened)

Quebec City International Airport (newly opened)

Ottawa Mai International Airport (newly opened)

Winnipeg International Airport (newly opened)

Edmonton International Airport (newly opened)

Toronto International Airport

Vancouver International Airport

Montreal International Airport

calgary international airport

For international students, the main impact of this policy is:

There are more airports to enter and more routes to choose.

Hotel isolation is not required for 3 days after entry, but home isolation is essential for 14 days.

If you booked a quarantine hotel after August 9, you can get a refund if you negotiate with the hotel.

So, my friends:

Before entry-you need to know the preparations before departure.

Entering this country-need to know practical tips

After entering the country-you need to know the requirements of home isolation

We will explain them to you one by one in this order.

Prepare a list before entering the country

First of all, the premise of making all preparations must be confirmed, that is, whether you are qualified for the competition. Little friends need to use official website's: FindoutifyoucanenterCanada.

Find out whether you are allowed to enter Canada.

Next, the materials to be prepared fall into two categories:

The first kind of study abroad materials

Fingerprint valid letter (if any)

School admission notice/proof of attendance/course (both are acceptable)

School tuition receipt

Proof of funds (GIC is required for SDS project)

Notarial certificate of guardian's declaration (minor student)

Category II entry materials

1. Valid passport (with TRV), receipt of medical examination and study abroad visa, or approval letter after the application for study abroad visa is passed.

2 COVID-19 vaccination certificate (if any)

3. Negative report of nucleic acid test 72 hours before boarding.

4. Canadian immigration software ArriveCan

5. 14-day self-isolation plan

6. Canadian nucleic acid testing reservation account

7. Book a flight to travel and choose a seat as soon as possible (if you need to transfer).

Regarding the first material, I believe that the mail and intermediary of the University Student Affairs Office will provide detailed guidance for the friends. Today we mainly talk about the second introductory material.

For our imported materials, the following are the special precautions for each material:

1. Valid passport (with TRV), receipt of medical examination and study abroad visa, or approval letter after the application for study abroad visa is passed.

Try to ensure that your passport has a validity period of at least 1 year, and check whether the visa is valid;

If you have lived in China for more than six months, you need to provide a receipt for the physical examination;

Make sure whether your physical examination has expired or is about to expire (valid within one year) before you travel. Immigration does not process the medical examination results in time. If you need a medical examination, you must go to the medical examination as soon as possible according to the travel time so as to have enough time to reactivate the visa.

People with different identities need to prepare different visa types (student visa/work visa /COPR) and supporting materials (students need to prepare school certificates and courses, workers need to prepare work letters/employer contracts, and guaranteed family members need to prepare identity certificates of their domestic family members and documents to prove family relationships).

2 COVID-19 vaccination certificate (if any)

At present, Canada does not recognize vaccines made in China, but some universities do (and you can go back to school with a domestic vaccination certificate, please refer to the regulations of the school). Therefore, if you have completed the vaccination of COVID-19 vaccine in China, you can go to the corresponding hospital/health center to issue the corresponding COVID-19 vaccination certificate, which will also help you to go back to China for green code in the future.

If the vaccine approved by Canada is vaccinated, the specific requirements for vaccination and certification include:

Vaccination must be given at least 14 days before entering Canada;

Must be a full range of vaccines or vaccine combinations recognized by the Canadian government;

Government-approved vaccines include Pfizer, Madena, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson;

Travelers can be vaccinated in any country/region;

The vaccination certificate must be provided in English, French or a certified translator (together with the original).

3. Negative report of nucleic acid test 72 hours before boarding.

Regardless of the vaccination situation, passengers over 5 years old need to get a negative report of nucleic acid PCR test within 72 hours before boarding the last flight to Canada.

Special attention: the negative report of nucleic acid PCR (coronavirus pneumonia-19moleculartest) must be within 72 hours before take-off! Some passengers used the antigen negative report (negative)

Antigentest) is not recognized by Canadian border. Although it is possible to board the plane with such a report, you may face repatriation or a maximum fine of $5,000 when you enter the country, and you may also face criminal prosecution.

If you have been infected with coronavirus pneumonia and have recovered, but the nucleic acid report is still positive, you need to prepare a nucleic acid positive report within 14-90 days before departure and provide a rehabilitation report.

4. Canadian immigration software ArriveCan

Arrivcan is an APP that everyone who enters Canada must download. Before entering Canada, relevant information must be submitted through Arrivcan. The information submitted should include: contact information, including the contact information of the passenger himself and his colleagues who will be isolated in the same place, including name, date of birth, email address, telephone number and travel document information.

The main information includes:

Entry purposes, such as work, study, family reunion and other necessary travel reasons;

Tourism information, including arrival date, entry place/mode, flight information, etc. ;

Coronavirus pneumonia-19 Problems found and reported before entry;

Provide information about countries/regions that you have lived or visited within 14 days before your arrival in Canada (excluding countries/regions that you passed through on the way from one destination to another);

How to get from the airport to the isolation place (driving by yourself or by friends, specific protective measures, etc. );

The detailed address and living conditions of the self-isolation place (whether there is a separate bathroom, whether there are elderly people over 65 living together, etc.). );

How to solve the daily ration during the period of self-isolation;

If you need help from the airport to the end of the quarantine, such as picking up the driver, helping you with your daily necessities, the landlord, etc. You need to write down their names and contact information.

After submitting all the information, you will receive a receipt at ArriveCan. Be sure to save the screenshot and show it directly to the customs when you pass through the customs.

Be careful not to fill in the information prematurely: If you fill in the information 48 hours before arrival, the system will not generate a receipt code, but will ask you to log back in within 48 hours to complete the self-assessment of COVID-19's symptoms, and then generate a receipt.

You need to sign in at ArriveCAN every day on the second day after entry, and submit the self-examination form of symptoms of coronavirus pneumonia every day during the quarantine period (complete vaccination is not required).

If you encounter any problems during use, you can send an email to: phac.arrivecan.aspc@canada.ca

5. 14-day self-isolation plan

Complete inoculation no longer requires 14 days compulsory isolation and 8 days compulsory nucleic acid detection. If you don't fall into this category, you still need to provide a self-isolation plan of 14 days. In the isolation plan, you need to confirm that you have a suitable residence and meet the following requirements:

You can stay at least 14 days;

You can get supplies of water, food and medicine without leaving the isolation place;

Contact with other non-walkers can be avoided;

No family or guests visited during the quarantine.

6. Register the Canadian nucleic acid testing account in advance.

When registering ArriveCAN, the account must be the same as the email address. Different cities have different channels for nucleic acid detection, and the website used in Toronto is Switch.

Health. In this step, the small partner needs to confirm the channel situation of the city where he arrived.

The nucleic acid test results at the airport will be displayed in the account in two or three days. On the eighth day, you need to log in, video online with medical staff, and conduct your own nucleic acid test. change

The Ministry of Health will arrange on-site pick-up service.

7. Book air tickets and choose seats as early as possible during the trip.

After determining the itinerary, all friends will book air tickets in time and prepare their travel itinerary. However, if most friends need to transfer (for example, after arriving in Canada, they need to transfer in Canada), they must remember to choose the front seat, and pay special attention to: don't bring too much luggage to board the plane. Otherwise, the aisle will be crowded when you get off the plane. Because you get off the plane in order, the back seat will also delay the connecting flight.

Practical skills for getting started

After preparing the above materials and boarding the plane smoothly, there are still many details that need to be paid attention to by the friends. They include:

1. Fill in the entry card and get the declaration form to go through the customs.

The entry card of Toronto airport is a paper version issued on the plane, and the entry card of Montreal is an electronic version filled in at the customs. After the plane landed, a declaration form was generated by the machine declaration. Passport, visa, nucleic acid test report and entry code should be checked when going through customs.

Special note: if you are entering Toronto, it is recommended to prepare a signature pen in your bag in advance and find a high-definition illustration on the Internet.

2. Do nucleic acid test at the airport and get the self-test tool on the 8th day.

After picking up your luggage, you can push the car to do nucleic acid testing at any time, and the people in the team will keep asking if you have registered the switch.

Health, if you are not registered, you have plenty of time to register at this time. Then, I took a small bag with my passport, which contained test tubes needed for nucleic acid detection, and made a nose swab at the place where I queued up to detect coronavirus pneumonia-19.

Special attention 1: After completing the first test, you will receive a blue box, which is a self-help tool for the second nucleic acid test and needs to be completed on the eighth day of home isolation.

Special note 2: It is best to prepare a North American number with 10 digits, which can be used by family and friends. Because you can't fill in the domestic mobile phone number when filling out the lifelab nucleic acid detection registration form.

3. Change your study permit at the airport.

After the nucleic acid test is completed, you can exchange your passport and school offer at the airport for identification (that is, big signature) according to the guidelines, the size of A4 paper.

Special attention 1: This place must be fast, and there are often many people waiting in line, which is very tired. It is recommended to eat more before getting off the plane (in the past, domestic planes were relatively safe, the airport had a large population and a high risk factor).

Special note 2: This is because the transfer time of this place cannot be determined, sometimes it is fast, sometimes it is slow. If you have friends who need to transfer next time, please reserve at least 1~2 hours to queue up. If you can't catch the next flight, you can contact the staff to help change the ticket.

If you want to transfer again, you need to go through the customs to pick up your luggage and then check it in at the customs.

If you don't know where to check your luggage, you can ask the airport staff or tip Li Xiaoge to lead the way (cash payment: $65,438 +00/ car, someone will give you an extra tip of $65,438 +00).

Special attention: It is recommended to prepare some small change or credit cards that can be used abroad, so that you can buy some food in the waiting room (this place is really tired and easy to get hungry). However, remember not to bring more than 1 ten thousand Canadian dollars in cash into the country.

Domestic quarantine spot check after entry

After passing through the customs, you can go to the destination for self-isolation according to the arrangement of 14-day self-isolation plan. The day of employment is 1 day, and the nucleic acid self-test needs to be completed on the eighth day. During this 14 day, the office will conduct random checks on your home isolation from time to time. If the random inspector is not at home, he may face high fines or criminal proceedings. Never go out during home isolation! ! ! The phone of the health bureau must be answered! ! !

The spot check is as follows

1.HealthCanada mainly conducts spot checks in three ways, one is electronic voice telephone, the other is manual telephone, and the third is on-site inspection;

The electronic voice phone will ask you a basic question. Just press the button and answer yes( 1) or no(2) according to the question, and the question is also very basic;

2. The manual telephone method will first confirm your identity, ask about the situation of home isolation, and also remind you to conduct the nucleic acid self-test on the eighth day;

3. In the way of on-site inspection, you will be asked to show your passport to confirm your identity and ask basic questions, such as whether you are going out, whether there are visitors, and whether the nucleic acid self-test is completed.

4. 1 day has the highest probability of being spot-checked by electronic voice phone, the highest probability of being spot-checked by manual phone on the 6th day, and the highest probability of being spot-checked by door on the 8th day;

5. Try to stay awake during the spot check and don't sleep during the day, especially during 9- 17;

6.

On the eighth day, before the nucleic acid self-test begins, I will receive an email in advance and give you a suggested time period, but I don't have to follow the email advice. In the morning, you can log in to connect with the doctor/nurse (you need to complete the nucleic acid detection through video), and the courier can sample the book as soon as possible.

7. Contact the courier company (1-888-744-7 123) and call for sampling at least one day in advance;

8. After the nucleic acid self-test, be sure to put the sample in the refrigerator and take it out when the courier knocks on the door to avoid the sample being invalid;

9. The results of nucleic acid self-test will be reminded by email, and the results will be produced in about 2 to 4 days, and the results will be produced in about 30 hours at the earliest.
